🏆 2025 Angler of the Year
The Connecticut Sweetwater Bass Club is proud to announce Dave Gontarz as the 2025 Angler of the Year (AOY)!
Dave showcased impressive consistency and determination throughout the entire season. From early spring to the final Connecticut River event, he was always in contention — posting solid finishes and capping off his year with a second-place showing and a 2.90 lb lunker largemouth to seal the AOY title. His focus, adaptability, and knowledge of changing conditions made him a tough competitor on every body of water.

We’d also like to recognize Dallas Sherman for earning the Top Non-Boater honors for 2025! Dallas put together a strong season from the back deck, highlighted by a third-place finish in the final Connecticut River tournament and consistent performances all year long. His steady results and positive attitude exemplify what it means to be a true competitor and team member within the club.

Congratulations to Marc Lampkin on securing the 2024 Angler of the Year title with the CT Sweetwater Bass Club! Marc has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication throughout the tournament season, consistently delivering impressive performances. Notably, he began the year with a strong win at Lake Lillinonah, weighing in 14.6 pounds of bass, and continued his success with a victory on the Connecticut River, bringing in a 13.31-pound mixed bag.
His consistent achievements have rightfully earned him this prestigious honor.
