WATER TREATMENT PLANT ⇨ POTABLE WATER

What’s the Story?

Filter, settle, clean, clean, clean! When water enters a water treatment plant it gets “clean,” in order to provide potable water for people for drinking, cleaning, cooking, and more! The process has many steps and begins by pumping water from the source (often a reservoir or river), then getting rid of dirt and other particles through filtration and settling, disinfection through chlorination, and then the storage of the treated water in towers that can distribute the water (gravity forcing it through networks of underground pipes) throughout the community where it is used.
