RIVER/STREAM ⇨ RESERVOIR/LAKE

Story Blurb Here…..

The water is calm; cooler, and deeper. Many rivers travel to reservoirs and lakes, draining fresh water from huge areas of land in a watershed! Flowing waters from rivers and streams feed reservoirs and lakes, maintaining water levels and water quality. This is particularly important for reservoirs, which are used for drinking water by people, and for the distinct wildlife habitats in lakes. Animals like beaver and geese are important species, but can affect the quality of the water due to bacterial contamination from excess waste. Damming rivers and streams significantly changes the natural flow of water, interrupting wildlife corridors and migration, but creating new and different habitats and providing resources and recreational opportunities for people.
