OCEAN/HARBOR ⇨ CLOUD

What’s the Story?

And away it goes!!! When water gets energy from light, heat, and wind, water molecules speed up and separate to become water vapor. Water vapor travels to Earth’s atmosphere, condenses in the clouds, and then falls back down as precipitation. Although water in the ocean is salty because of dissolved minerals, when water molecules evaporate, they separate from the salts as well. This is one way that salt water becomes “fresh” water again in the water cycle.
