What’s the Story?

Warm and cozy! Bubbly too! Being in the cleaning process at the wastewater treatment plant can be compared to a hot tub. When people in a community bathe, do laundry, wash dishes, and use other appliances, they use a lot of hot water! One step of the wastewater treatment process is to aerate the water in large pools in order to break down and dissipate certain substances. Throughout the multistep process, water from municipal wastewater treatment plants will evaporate into the clouds, returning to the natural water cycle.
