POTABLE WATER ⇨ AGRICULTURE

What’s the Story?

Being clean is mighty keen! Potable water is important for the health and wellbeing of farm animals or “livestock.” Although livestock may be able to drink directly from surface water supplies on a farm, like a river, stream, lake, or pond, this could potentially damage those resources or contribute to water pollution (most likely in the form of fecal bacteria if large numbers of livestock have direct access to surface waters). Providing potable water, usually from groundwater wells, is the answer to that predicament - ensuring clean drinking water for the animals and protecting water quality! Potable water is also essential for other purposes around the farm, like safely washing produce before it is marketed.
