AGRICULTURE ⇨ SEWAGE WASTEWATER
What’s the Story?
So much manure! Eww, smells BAD! Large agricultural operations create a lot of animal waste (especially those know as "CAFOs," Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations)! As water moves through the farm, ideally it is treated in some way (cleaned), and prevented from entering nearby waterways with this contamination. There are ways to reduce sewage wastewater in agricultural operations, such as composting the waste to allow for decomposition, and then utilizing that compost for growing more food. Unfortunately because some agricultural operations focus on just animal production this becomes an issue.
