About the Seminar

Physics is an indispensable component in engineering curricula because technology is based on our knowledge of physical laws. Physics remains the leader of the modern natural sciences, the theoretical basis of modern engineering. As no any other science, Physics promotes the development of creative and critical thinking in future engineers. The problem is that the majority of the students do not correlate closely engineering and Physics and do not always transfer the knowledge they acquired in physics to their engineering-technology courses. As a result, the students get lost in engineering-technology courses when the topic under study requires reference to specific knowledge and skills taught in physics courses. Hence, the engineering-technology professors meet the situation in which the students formally studied a course but did not interrelated learning material with engineering applications. This seminar is a unique approach that provides students with an ability to transfer conceptual understanding in physics to the engineering-technology courses. Also, this seminar would provide a platform to engineering students for improving their technical knowledge and for acquiring interest in research and development sector.
