Crown Land Use Policy Atlas (CLUPA) or google “Ontario Crown Land Atlas”
When you first open the App you are presented with a Disclaimer, here are the main points:
The CLUPA is a general guide for viewing Crown land use areas and policies. It is not authoritative or precise.
The maps are illustrative and not suitable for determining private land boundaries.
Information may change without notice, and MNR is not obligated to update it.
Verification Required: Users should confirm the accuracy and relevance of the information with official sources (e.g., MNR District offices)/physical signs.
Some areas shown in CLUPA may appear to be public Crown land but are actually under private lease or other legal arrangements. These lands haven’t been patented (sold), so they’re still technically Crown land, but entering them without permission may be considered trespassing.
Despite this, such lands are included in CLUPA because they remain under Ministry management. The Ministry stopped sharing detailed information about leases and dispositions with the public.
The Ministry also has the authority to close specific areas to camping under the Public Lands Act.
If you’re considering a specific location, the best approach is to contact the local Ministry of Natural Resources Area or District office. They can confirm whether camping is permitted and provide clear guidance.

Do your due diligence eh?
Or at least half-ass it.
