# Privacy Policy — Crossword Club

This Privacy Policy explains how Crossword Club ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App. This document is a starting template — read it, fill in the bracketed placeholders, and host it at a public URL before submitting to Google Play (Play Console requires every app to link a live privacy policy page, and this is required specifically because the App shows AdMob ads).
## 1. Information We Collect
Crossword Club itself does **not** require an account and does not collect your name, email address, or any personal contact information. Your game progress (coins, completed puzzles, sound preference) is stored **only on your device** using local storage, and is never transmitted to us.
## 2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays ads served by **Google AdMob** (banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads). To serve and measure ads — including to show ads that may be relevant to you — Google AdMob and its partners may collect and process:
- Device identifiers (such as your advertising ID)
- General device information (device model, OS version, language, country)
- Approximate location (derived from IP address)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, video-ad completion)
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and
[How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services](https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
You can review or reset your advertising ID, and opt out of personalized advertising, in your Android device settings under
**Settings → Google → Ads**.

## 3. Children's Privacy
Crossword Club is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If your app **is** directed at children, you must instead configure AdMob for a[child-directed treatment](https://support.google.com/admob/answer/9721113) and update this policy accordingly — the default setup described in this project's README is for a general audience app, not a Families-program app.
## 4. Data Storage & Retention
- Game progress is stored locally on your device only, and is deleted if
you uninstall the App or clear its app data.
- We do not operate our own servers or databases that store your personal
data.
- Data collected by Google AdMob is retained and processed according to
Google's own policies, linked above.
## 5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party service:

- You can clear all locally stored game progress by clearing the App's
storage/cache in **Settings → Apps → Crossword Club → Storage**, or by
uninstalling the App.
## 7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this same URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
