Cross Remote Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 16, 2026
This policy explains how the Cross Remote app ("the app"), published on Google Play by PPUPPUlabs, handles your information.
Summary
The app does not collect, store, or send any personal data to us or to any third party. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no cloud servers. Photos, videos, and the live camera view travel only between your Android phone and the devices you connect to it over a direct Wi-Fi connection.
What the app accesses and why
- Camera: to show the live view and take photos and videos.
- Microphone: to record sound with videos. Optional. Video records without sound if you don't allow it.
- Screen capture (MediaProjection): to stream the camera screen to your viewing devices.
- Nearby Wi-Fi devices / Location (Android 12 and earlier only): Android requires this to create the Wi-Fi Direct connection. The app does not use or store your location.
- Notifications: to show that streaming is running.
Where your photos and videos go
Photos and videos are saved in your Android phone's gallery (Pictures/CrossRemote and Movies/CrossRemote). The live view, photo previews, and the full-resolution photos and recorded videos you choose to download are sent directly from your Android phone to the browser on your viewing device over the phone's Wi-Fi Direct network, protected by its Wi-Fi password. They never pass through our servers or the internet.
Purchases
The Pro upgrade is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment under its own privacy policy. We don't receive your payment details.
Data retention and deletion
We don't hold any of your data. Photos and videos stay on your devices until you delete them. Uninstalling the app removes its settings from your phone.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
