Services for Mrs. Lorene Crittenden Thomas, 80, were held at 2pm Saturday, November 27, 1993 at the First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Wilson Warren officiating, assisted by the Rev. Don Roberts. Burial was in the Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Plain Dealing.
Mrs. Thomas, a native of Dawson, TX, passed away suddenly Wednesday, November 24, 1993. She was born November 21, 1913, the eldest daughter of Thomas Louallen "Louie" and Obie Cox Crittenden. She was a Christian from her youth, having been baptized in the Rose Hill Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX. She served her Master many years in the First Presbyterian Church in the capacity of teacher and elder. She was active in the Bossier Council on Aging, taking part in the Senior Olympics. She was a devoted wife to Buddy Thomas until the time of his death January 11, 1979. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mattie Brown and two brothers, Nathan Crittenden and R. S. Crittenden.
She is survived by her beloved children, Jack W. and his wife Darlene Thomas of Conroe, TX, Janell and her husband, Kenneth Wallace of Plain Dealing, Jerry and his wife, Patricia Thomas of Churchville, Maryland, Carol Boyd and her husband Billy Boyd of Plain Dealing; eleven grandchildren, Vicki Fuzzell of Greeley, CO, Connie Thomas of Doddridge, AR, Suzanne Wallace and Charlotte Barnett, both of Plain Dealing, Rebecca Cademartori of Centreville, VA, Margaret Thomas of Reston, VA, Karen Ball, Laura Thomas, Daria Hicks, Kevin Lang, and Tiffany Lang, all of Conroe, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Chris and Lauren Fuzzell, Brittany Ball, Kyle and Tyler Wallace, Kelsey and Shelby Barnett; two sisters, Viola Rodgers of Cullen and Juanita Wallace of Plain Dealing; one brother, Tommie Crittenden of Springhill; numerous nieces and nephews.
