First released in 2005, Maxwell Render was the first commercial rendering solution introducing physics-based unbiased ray-tracing. Maxwell Render has been acclaimed for its highest level of realism and unsurpassed image quality. Used by thousands of professionals in design and architecture projects worldwide, Maxwell Render has inspired many others who came after.

First released in 2012, XFlow is a particle-based Lattice Boltzmann technology solver for high fidelity CFD applications, offering multiphase and moving parts modeling capabilities specially focused on lubrication workflows. XFlow features automatic lattice generation, GPU computing, and advanced rendering capabilities.

Maxwell Render is an unbiased 3D render engine, developed by Next Limit Technologies in Madrid, Spain. This stand-alone software is used in the film, animation, and VFX industry, as well as in architectural and product design visualization.[2][3] It offers various plug-ins for 3D/CAD and post production applications.[4]

The physically correct rendering engine was originally used as a tool for animation and visual effects. Maxwell Render's trademark Multilight feature,[7] which permits the changing of light intensities and colors in real time, was used in the feature film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.[8]

Maxwell Render for SketchUp[9] is a simplified version of Maxwell Render, fully integrated into the SketchUp software application. Users can set the camera, lighting and environment, apply SketchUp or Maxwell MXM materials, and render and save image files. It is widely used in product design, architectural and engineering visualization.

I like Lumion very much, however, the last time I tried it, it was obvious to me that it would never be able to generate a truly hi-quailty rendeing. Pretty pictures yes, lots of fun to use, I would use it a lot I am sure if I could justify the expence of it. I have made some very good looking renderings with it - if you don't look too close. I would say that I can make better renderings with Lumion than I can with Archicad - but if its a high-quality Rendeing I want, then neither one of them can do the job.

Maxwell Render Studio is a standalone render engine for making perfect images, films and animations from 3D models. It is the complete solution for anyone who demands immaculate results on a deadline.

Maxwell Render is arguably the most accurate and configurable renderer on the market. As an unbiased renderer it does not make assumptions when calculating lighting and reflections. This can mean it takes a little longer for quick renders but the reduction in noise and artefacts, particularly in complex and interior renders, can mean big time savings compared to re-rendering or Photoshopping in other (biased renders). The multilight feature also means it's not necessary to re-render if you've found post-render that your camera settings were not quite right. We recommend using the included render nodes to build a mini render farm to really boost output.

Maxwell FIRE gives you immediate feedback in the renderer for adjustments to lighting, materials and camera settings. And unlike other interactive style renderers, Maxwell FIRE is compatible with ALL Maxwell materials and features.

The advanced ray tracing technology which forms the core of Maxwell Render's engine is so powerful that it is capable of simulating light exactly as it is in the real world. No tricks. Just real world physics. Which is why Maxwell Render is the benchmark in render quality.

Instances are a great way to save memory when rendering. With 10,000 instances of 1 object, Maxwell Render will consume the same amount of memory at render time as if it was rendering only the 1 object. Instances are great for creating vegetation, bricks, furniture or any other extensively repeated geometry in your scene.

Be confident that your simulations truly reflect reality. Maxwell Render's incredible lighting accuracy means that your materials will look the way they are supposed to, and every detail of your textures and models will play a part in bringing your render to life.

Pipeline support has vastly improved with the release of Maxwell Render, which now has a Python SDK with online documentation. With Python you have access to almost all the features of Maxwell Render, allowing you to write custom tools such as extracting certain channels from an MXI sequence, rendering a turn-table animation of all your scene assets for easy referencing, creating materials on the fly, network render management and much much more.

Maxwell Render's hair rendering tool is compatible with many of the most popular hair systems (Maya Shave and a Haircut, Maya hair, 3ds Max hair, CINEMA hair, or Ornatrix). Hair systems are automatically converted to the Maxwell Hair primitive which is highly optimized in terms of memory consumption and speed, and of course, offers totally unrivalled quality. The hair primitive has actual thickness so any Maxwell material can be applied to it, including transparent, refractive materials.

The displacement feature in Maxwell Render is both flexible and powerful - it offers two methods for displacement: on the fly and pretessellated. With on-the-fly displacement you can have virtually unlimited displacement detail with no extra ram usage, while pretessellated offers the benefit of speed together with the possibility to render vector displacements.

The Maxwell Render grass generator allows you to quickly create grass on a selected piece of geometry. Designed to offer maximum control over the look of the grass - from impeccable detail on close-up shots to fast-rendering further away from the camera. Compatible with Maxwell Studio and almost all supported plugins.

Maxwell Render's powerful networking capabilities are multi-platform, allowing for a mixture of Windows, OSX and Linux in the same network. You can set Maxwell Render to render one image using all of your computers, or set each computer to render one animation frame. Complete control and flexibility.

Hi there! I'm a new Rhino user and who's in the process of rendering through the Maxwell Render plugin. I've rendered one view so far in Maxwell, and now I've set up a second view. While the render is processing in Maxwell studio, do I need to keep the Rhino window with my model open?

Is it possible to export particles as .bin files with this addon?

I have seen some movies that suggest that it works, or do you need maxwell?

if it works, could someone explain how? would be very grateful!

And I wonder how different are Maxwell Particles from RealFlow RenderKit (what kind of name!), as they both produce .bin files

(different from the point of view of rendering in Maxwell Render, not RealFlow).

Octane RTX hardware acceleration brings 2-5x render speed increases to NVIDIA raytracing GPUs with multi-GPU support. RTX acceleration speed gains increase in more complex scenes and can be benchmarked using RTX OctaneBench.

Maxwell 5 includes several new features and improvements: procedural textures, multi-GPU rendering, Maxwell Cloud, 4K compatibility and much more. See release notes for a complete list of all Maxwell 5 news here.

Three years ago, Maxwell accessed the GPU

rendering market with its release number 4. But too many materials support limitations

created a lot of frustration and disappointment. Will release number 5 show the return of

Maxwell in the GPU arena?

Rendering can be made on several GPUs. Nvidia

graphic cards supporting CUDA are mandatory. It is also recommended that the

memory available in each card is the same. You can activate and de-activate

cards that you want to use for a specific rendering but the Fire (interactive rendering) uses only one GPU.

A few limitations remain like the multilight

handling, a few rendering channels like the shadow and the alpha customs,

Maxwell Grass and volumetrics.

We use 3ds Max and V-Ray here at WS so the first part of this tutorial will describe the settings specific to our pipeline, but can be translated to other renderers. The second part will look at what you need to do to prepare your rendered image for upload to Facebook, regardless of software used. be457b7860
