Twice a year CREMS participates in a weekend workshop in Bundanoon, in southern NSW, in conjunction with the Sydney Society of Recorder Players (SSRP). CREMS hosts the autumn workshop, usually held in May and SSRP hosts the spring workshop, usually held in September. Dates vary from year to year and will be posted on the website closer to the time. Participants are grouped by ability and after a massed playing session rotate through sessions with each of the visiting tutors. There is an optional dinner on Saturday night where participants are encouraged to perform a short item either before or during the meal. Sometimes we are lucky enough to have the tutors perform! The weekend culminates with a concert in which each group performs an item prepared in their home group.
Bundanoon has proved an ideal venue for the two combined Sydney/Canberra weekend workshops held each year. It is a picturesque village with some shops and many tourist facilities, easily accessible by either car or train. The Southern Highlands is also a great place for non-playing partners or friends to have a pleasant weekend.
The workshop is held at:
