Creeda generates a throwaway username, temporary email, and password for quick sign-ups. This page explains exactly what happens to that data — in plain language, without the legal padding.

What Creeda does

Creeda is a browser extension that generates a username, a working temporary email address, and a password, so you can sign up for something without handing over real personal information. That's its only job — it doesn't do anything else in the background.

Where the data lives

The username, email address, and password you generate are held only in your browser's local storage on your own device (chrome.storage.session and chrome.storage.local), so the popup can remember what you generated even after you close and reopen it. If you choose to save a set of credentials for later, that record is written to the same local storage — never uploaded, synced to an account, or sent to us in any form.

Uninstalling Creeda, or clearing your browser's extension storage, deletes everything Creeda has stored. There's no copy anywhere else, because there's nowhere else it goes.

Temporary email providers

To give you a real, working inbox rather than a fake-looking string, Creeda opens a background tab on one of two third-party services you choose between: temp-mail.org or AdGuard Temp Mail. Creeda reads the address that service generates so it can show it to you, and can click that service's own "get" or "change address" buttons on your behalf.

Creeda is an independent project and is not affiliated with, authorized, sponsored, or endorsed by either service. Whatever happens to mail that arrives at the address they generate is governed by their own privacy policy, not this one.

Permissions, and why

Every permission Creeda asks the browser for maps to something described above — nothing more.

storage — Keeps the currently generated credentials visible across popup opens, remembers your provider/language preference, and stores anything you explicitly save.

tabs — Opens or reuses the background tab on your chosen temp-mail provider, and brings it to the front when you click "Open inbox".

webNavigation — Used only to locate AdGuard's email widget, which lives in an iframe on a different domain than the page you open, so messages reach the right frame.

host permissions — Limited to temp-mail.org, adguard.com, and tempmail.adguard.com — the two supported providers. Creeda has no access to any other site you visit.

What Creeda doesn't do
