Beautiful fabrics turned into a beautiful baby quilt. I read a review of the pattern where someone wasn't happy because directional fabrics didn't turn out the way she thought they should, but yours look fine. I thought, "Just turn them the other way when you cut, then, or don't use directional fabrics!" I like that pattern.

It is made to use fat quarters, but I bought the novelty fabric (well, all the fabrics) in yardage. I did the math as best I could. Luckily I have extra (even Ohio State, ugh) of all colors. I accidentally cut the OSU fabric the opposite direction of the pattern, so the length and width I made are run the opposite way, but oh well.

@Edel Yeah, I am not a fan of American football either --especially Ohio State-- but it is really pretty. This is a fun pattern with so many options. I am glad you posted your quilt because it really inspired me!

And the rack that displays it should reflect a level of craftsmanship that measures up to the skill and time required to make the quilt. The quilt rack you see here provides the solution. Its Craftsman-style design complements the heirloom quality of the quilt, and it's sturdy enough to display a quilt of any size. Mortise and tenon joinery provides strength and stability. And keys wedged into square holes at the ends of the stretchers add an interesting look. Best of all, you'll be able to cut all the mortises and tenons at your table saw.

For this month's Friday Night with Friends, I decided I wanted to try to finish the binding on my Fire Dance quilt. I started at about 5:30PM and I was done by 9:30PM. I don't think I'll ever go back to sewing bindings by hand; I used to take weeks to finish them. (The trick is to sew the binding to the backside of the quilt and then flip it to the front so the "messy" side is on the back. I found several good videos showing how to do it, but this is the best one.)

Little Free Pantry

A local group of 4-H'ers decided to take action when they saw some of their peers struggling with food insecurity. They created a plan and found a local craftsman to build their dream of a little free pantry. Local businesses have been generous in their donations and commitments as well as other 4-H Clubs within Lancaster County. They set out to help peers and are grateful for the opportunity to support so many in our community who need a bit of help from time to time.
