My name is Yolanda Jackson, and I am elated to be a member of the Crabapple Crossing Family. I am originally from Mississippi, and I completed my undergraduate studies at Mississippi State University and my graduate studies at the University of West Alabama. I worked in the social services field for 5 years before beginning my career in education in 2011. I enjoy going to concerts, movies, sporting events, festivals, and amusement parks with my family and friends. I am excited about this school year, and I can't wait to meet each and every one of you.
The vision of the Crabapple Crossing Elementary School counseling program is that all students are respectful of differences, demonstrate resiliency, are active problem-solvers, and can possess the knowledge and skills needed to be lifelong learners and leaders.
The mission of the Crabapple Crossing Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. The counseling department will support every student to reach their fullest potential by helping ensure that all students can become life-long learners and leaders, problem-solvers, and productive leaders within their community.
The program is designed based on the standards and competencies set forth by the American School Counseling Association. A data-driven comprehensive school counseling program that supports students in the areas of:
Academics
College and Career
Social-Emotional Development
I am here to help you and your students through monthly classroom counseling lessons, individual student counseling, small group counseling, and connections to community resources.
