Megan Lewis - Women's Head Varsity Coach

Megan graduated from Washington in 1994 and began coaching with her alma mater in 2003 as an Assistant on the Men's team. She took over as the Head Women's Coach in 2006. Megan obtained both her Bachelor of Sociology and Master of Teaching from the University of Iowa. In 2015, she took a teaching position at Washington working with students who have autism. She married her husband Shawn in 2010 and he currently manages Sugar Fire restaurant in Cedar Rapids. Megan has two sons who have graduated, Hunter and Jackson.

Laurel Cruse - Women's Assistant Varsity Coach

Laurel has lived in Cedar Rapids for nearly 8 years and is happy to call this city home. As a life-long athlete, she was a state swimmer (Mason City High School) and state track runner (Forest City High School) and participated on the Crew team at the University of Iowa where she graduated in 2004 with a degree in Recreation Management and Child Studies. After having worked in most areas of Parks and Recreation-Aquatics, Summer Camps, Adult Sports, and Special Events (City of Beverly Hills), and Eco-Tourism (United States Peace Corps), she started coaching for the YMCA with their swim team this past summer. Laurel currently works for the City of Cedar Rapids in the Utilities Department. She is married to her husband Bob and spends much of her time looking after their busy family; Alice, Emma, Matthew, Grace, and Veronica.

Donald Bear - Women's Diving Coach

Don graduated from Washington High School in 1988 and returned to take over the diving coach position in 2006. He was born and raised in Cedar Rapids and for the last 20 years has worked for Windstream Communications as a Staff Manager in the project management organization. Don currently lives in Cedar Rapids with his wife Shannon. They have four children Jake, Karle, Adam, & Cole and their two golden retrievers Barkley & Ruby.
