Brian Spears is the director of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He is a principal architect of cognitive simulation methods – AI methods that combine high-performance simulation and precision experiments with the goal of improving model predictions. He is also the Deputy Lead for modeling and simulation of inertial confinement fusion (ICF) at the National Ignition Facility.
