I have lived in Oakridge for over 10 years. Next year, I will have kids attending Oakridge Elementary and Jr/Sr High Schools and my oldest is a starting freshman at the University of Oregon Honors College.
I currently work as an Emergency Room Physician Assistant. I received my Masters in PA studies from Oregon Health & Sciences University, a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Oregon State, and have an Associate degree in Paramedic Science from Lane Community College.
Before becoming a PA, I worked as a Paramedic for five years and Smokejumper for the US Forest Service for 13.
I am a Veteran, and proud to have served a combat deployment to Iraq as a Forward Air Controller.
Strong academics creates opportunity for students, retains students, and helps to attract new students and families to the district.
Attracting staff that want to live in the district is good for the schools and great for the community.
Opportunities outside the classroom keep students involved and provides excitment and motivation for school.
Not every student wants to, or needs to, attend college. Providing opportunites to learn skills before graduation will keep them in school and make them that much more competitive in the job market.
Vote Clem Pope for Oakridge School Board!
