Proposal will move to a formal vote at the December 16 meeting.
Motion:
“I motion that the proposal for expansion and dues move to splitting out the dues component and structure, and we move forward in December with a vote to remove the membership dues requirement for the SY 26–27.”

Discussion:
Plan to vote on removal of membership dues at the December 16 meeting.
Remaining board expansion items require refinement.
Dr. D supports serving as a non-voting advisory board member.
Consideration of a financial advisory (non-voting) position, potentially with a stipend.
Discussion about liaison roles and term limits: Treasurer/Secretary may continue without term limits; President/Vice President would add terms limits.
Subcommittee formed to refine expansion proposal: Kate McHale and Jennifer Baselice.
Committees will be connected by email this week.
Door prizes requested by Ms. Severson; donations may be labeled and sent to CPFA.
Discussion about catering vs. hybrid meal—Google Form will be created for membership input.
Meal cost options are being researched.
Discussion on Holiday Grams and budget alignment with the Holiday Extravaganza.
Jennifer Baselice and Susie Anhorn will compile cost estimates and share with Monica.

The following is a summary of the proceedings from the CPFA Parent Association General Meeting held on October 28, 2025.

The minutes from the September General Meeting were reviewed and approved upon motion by Dana Wainstein and second by Susie Ahorn.
The consent agenda was presented and approved after a motion by Susie Ahorn and a second by Monica Crane.
Monica Crane reported on the successful fundraising campaign for the musical Seussical, providing detailed financial numbers (see below).
Fall Fest preparations are underway, with Lauren Cattie sharing that the Parent Association will assist in filling remaining signup slots, as well as organizing prizes for the costume contests and games. Susie Ahorn will support the high school activities.
Volunteers are needed to assist with concessions and “Kisses for the Cast” tables for Lend Me A Tenor. Donated concessions from the MS musical are currently with Sheena Alhmer.
Fundraising initiatives include sales from musical and Unity Day T-shirts, which have contributed approximately 21% of our $10K goal. Additional ideas discussed include workshops, backstage tours, flowers, and masterclasses related to upcoming performances.
Major upcoming projects include the Annual Giving Campaign, Patron Program, Holiday Extravaganza (noting limited seating and sign-ups are for planning purposes), volunteers through Signup Genius, and the Yearbook project.
President (Lauren Cattie): Focused on developing a mission statement, core values, and a clear guide outlining roles and duties of executive members, chairs, and volunteers.
Vice President (Heather Evans): Announced successful ad sales for Seussical and outlined the transition to Usebutter for the Lend Me A Tenor fundraiser, which will run through November 14.
Treasurer (Monica Crane): Reported that Unity Day T-shirts sold 62 items with a profit of $139. Playbill ad sales raised $940, and concessions/Kisses for Cast earned $1,112 after expenses. The current bank balance stands at $4,341. Member dues remain at $25.
Secretary (Dana Wainstein): Introduced the new CPFA Community Feedback Form to collect anonymous or identified feedback from families, with up to five submissions shared at each general meeting. Link below.
Updates from department liaisons (Art, Dance, Music, Theatre) were noted, though no specific details were provided. report Dr. D, Head Administrator, offered support and thanks for the parents association and all volunteers.
Parent Committee Updates:
Fundraising (Jen Baselice): Celebrated the achievement of over 21% of our $10K goal from recent sales. Fundraising efforts continue with plans to support upcoming events.
Unity Day T-shirt Sales: Raised $130 from 62 shirts.
Fall Show Ad Sales and Concessions: Generated $940 and $1,112, respectively.
Swag Orders: 22 orders totaling $2,090 in sales.
New Initiatives: Considering a “Behind the Stage/Canvas” series; exploring additional support opportunities across departments.
Upcoming Events: Fall Festival planning, Spirit Week, Holiday Extravaganza, Senior and Middle School committees, Open House, Auditions, Teacher Appreciation, Showcase, and planning for the 2026-27 school year. No detailed updates reported at this time.
Member Questions & Suggestions:
Questions arose regarding the purpose and allocation of Parent Association funds, especially with a current balance exceeding $4,000. Several members suggested using some of these funds for improvements such as a new refrigerator or cabinet to support ongoing needs.

The first official Parents Association meeting was held on September 30, 2025, at 7:33 PM.
Minutes from the April meeting and the open meeting were approved.
A Consent Agenda process was introduced and approved to streamline meetings. Participants are asked to review and edit the agenda beforehand.

Unity Day: Thank you, Dana! The event was successful.
Success: Sold 63 items in one week, raising $130.
