Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Cristen and I am a Certified Integrative Wellness and Life Coach, Holistic EFT Practitioner and Reiki Master. As a member of the Complementary Therapists Accredited Association (CTAA) the scope of my work is expansive, including a vast variety of additional specialty certifications including Therapeutic Art, Clinical Hypnosis for Healing, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Bach Flower Essence. My path began many years ago, helping others as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Counselor. An interesting and disheartening observation I quickly made was the theme of self-sabotaging and limiting beliefs within my clients. I found that breakthroughs could only happen when I was able to assist others with getting out of their own way.
I have a Masters Degree in Human Behavior and I am fascinated with studying the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual systems that dictate our behavior patterns. I am passionate about my life-long journey of learning through both literature and experiences. Admittingly, my greatest teacher has been Life.
For over 25 years, my extensive career in wellness has entailed working with the Chicago Park District serving communities as well as staff. My areas of expertise are physical, social and emotional wellness; my niche is infusing movement, artistic expression, self-discovery, and education to promote inspiration and positive change. I am eternally grateful to have the ability to dedicate my talents towards helping others. I am passionate about my practice and am constantly seeking individual and occupational growth.
My Mission
As an Integrative Wellness Professional, I personally and professionally promote the fusion of self-exploration, physical activity, sound nutrition and creative outlets to support optimal well-being and enhance overall quality of life. I believe this journey is ongoing and individual.
My Unique Experience
For more than two decades, I have had the pleasure of working with all ages and abilities. I have a diverse skill set and knowledge base also including earning my CPRP, (Certified Parks and Recreation Professional), numerous certifications in specialty fitness formats, and a studio art and ballroom dance background. Additionally, I have extensive training in Emotional Intelligence and am a Certified EQ-i2.0 Practitioner from Multi-Health Systems.
My Method
My approach with clients is to explore their motivators and prospective barriers to determine most effective ways to move towards positive shifts that best serve them. I concentrate on setting clear goals and useful means of measuring success. Integrative methods allow individuals to unlock their true potential as they explore the interconnections of emotional and physical health. My intention is to challenge, support and empower clients throughout their unique journey towards total wellness.

I espouse the belief that wellness encompasses physical, emotional, spiritual and mental balance as well as personal growth and social development. I find gratification in providing individuals the tools needed to allow themselves to experience breakthroughs and discover their path to becoming their Best Self.

Science has proven the direct correlation between physical and emotional health. Best practice techniques involve empowering oneself to optimize overall wellness by understanding the interconnections of the body's energy systems. Breakthrough blockages with this evidence based effective tool and up-level your happiness and health.
The Stretch and Stabilization format focuses primarily on the physical body by shifting awareness to alignment. You will be guided through a series of gentle seated stretches to help release tension while practicing synchronizing the breath when transitioning into static holds.
The Movement and Meditation session is a hybrid of the physical and mental systems that promotes being in the present moment. Beginning with a grounding breath work introduction, this format includes slow, fluid movement. From a seated position, you will be guided through gentle dynamic stretches while being cued to synchronize the breath.
The Breath and Visualization format is an exercise for the mind. The intention of this practice is quite limitless. It can be used to improve mood, focus on a specific goal or simply calm the mind. In this session you will begin by bringing an awareness to the breath and shifting attention inward. You will then be guided on a peaceful journey with the use of imagery.

Cristen led the second summit of the year on Valentine's Day, offering a variety of sessions focusing on practicing attunement, self-care and stress reduction while promoting reflection and mindfulness to support total wellness.
