< Shepard Perch - Rigging >
Notable to the Deepspace base system is the establishing of a ground strut system to be the standard of base mounting. With a standard adjustable leveler system future platforms for expansion can be added with adjustable components to fit the mounting points.
< Flight Notes >
- To be grabbed to Sympathy lander (or other cargo lander) and landed at base site
- Engineer assembly required for docking to placed ground anchor
- Adjustment of variable angle legs to align docking port radial out for level position
< Control Groups >
- Engine Shutdown (part of launch escape program, unused)
< Shepard Perch - Habitation Platform >
The habitation platform is the first module to the Deepspace system combining habitation needs with logistics using a large general use living space and a seperate pressurized science lab using the platform space to store additional logistics and serve as protected but unpressurized movement.
< Flight Notes >
- Landing engines may overheat target rigging in certain relative roll positions
< Control Groups >
- (unused launch escape) engine shutdown
< Shepard Perch - Habitation Platform >
Shepard Perch is the first base to test/use the Deepspace base system. Part of this goal is in situ operations so an entire platform serves the primary purpose of drilling and fuel processing for lander refueling to extend use beyond the "camper fuel" model of landers. In addtion, the platform serves as the primary utilities module for a platform serving electrical and thermal control.
