Since mid-day on 6/28/22 (a little over 3 days ago), I have not been able to access my cox email through any IMAP configured device. I have tried two desktop PCs, a laptop and my iPhone. Access to my email account was attempted at my own home, office and from different locations on different wifi networks. So I know it is not an issue with my devices. Prior to 6/28/22, I could access email on all of these devices. I have also double-checked the IMAP server settings, and ensured they are exactly according to cox's requirements: imap.cox.net , secure port 993, etc...

The message I get when trying to access my email account on IMAP configured devices through Outlook 365 is as follows: Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for 'XXXXXX@cox.net.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for XXXXXX@cox.net. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Still experiencing the login failures on an intermittent basis. It's becoming very annoying especially since the IMAP needs to sync all the folders,etc. I'll be OK one minute and then I suddenly get the login failure message.

new issue as of yesterday, spam lands in my inbox...I try to send to spam...I've sent waaaay too many today so I cannot. I have to download into my email client and THEN I can forward to spamreport@cox.net.

I have my Cox email account associated with Thunderbird. Today when I opened Thunderbird I got a msg stating: Sending of password for user rbills1 did not succeed. Mail server pop.central.cox.net responded: account is currently inactive. I contacted Cox and they said my account is not inactive. They reset my Cox email password but when I changed to that password in Thunderbird I got the same msg. When I click on the OK button under the account is inactive msg it goes to a window that gives me the option of setting up a new pw which I tried twice. The same msg still pops up. I have 2 gmail accounts associated with Thunderbird that are working just fine. It is only the Cox account that I am having trouble with. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. TY. Please reply using the mrthrills@gmail.com account.

TY Matt!! Your solution worked and yes you would think the Cox rep would have mentioned the server name had been changed. I have been using the pop.central.cox.net name for years and didn't think about asking about it. Simple solution and I want to TY again.

Have been using my cox.net email with Thunderbird for years on a Windows 10 PC, also with 2 ipads, Win 10 laptop and 2 iphones. Cannot get or send emails from my cox.net on any device. Desktop Error message: (uses pop.cox.net) "Enter your password. Sending of password for use did not succeed. Mail server responded Authentication Failed."

Cox is an American service company which has millions of users all around the world. Users are provided with various features like the fastest services. But there is an issue with the cox users, that is, many of its users do not have much idea about how to do cox webmail login.

You will be prompted to enter your User ID, which is typically your full Cox email address (e.g., "yourname@cox.net"). Enter it in the provided field. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

I have two Internet Accounts now. One is the iCloud Account and one is the Cox account. Both use the email address of xxxx@cox.net. The iCloud Account has everything checked except for Mail, and the Cox account has only Mail checked, with the imap info in it.

Have you tried using the Mail Connection Doctor? If so, what were your results for your Cox email account? If it continues to fail at the login process, I suggest that you create a new user account on this Mac. Log out of your existing account, and login with the new one. Try adding your Cox email account into the Mail app again and see what happens.

I thought this was fixed, but now I can't log in to any of the cox.com or cox.net sites (BTW: Cox is my Internet Service Provider (ISP)). I've gone around and around with Cox on this and have a thread on DSL Reports:

Step 3: When the software gets successfully login to your Cox.net account, it starts to fetch and sync Cox emails to software panel. Here, you can also opt for required mailbox folders or select all folders.

To add an extra security layer, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for your Cox Email account. While login from a new device, you will be asked for a verification code. This verification code is sent to your mobile device.

In conclusion, Cox Email is a reliable and secure email service offered by Cox Communications. With a user-friendly interface, ample storage space, and robust security features, it provides an excellent platform for staying connected. By following theCox Email login process and implementing security measures, you can enjoy a seamless email experience.

The poor internet connection will keep you from accessing your Cox webmail account. Therefore, whenever a login issue arises with your Cox email, we suggest you check if there are any issues with your internet connection. Restart your router, or ask ISP for help.

Re: "Too many login failures next to the "Fetching Email via IMAP or POP ""I would check with your ISP to find out why the authentication is failing. They can look at their auth or mail server logs to determine whats wrong.Re: " then eventually goes to a blank white page."Check your PHP error log, it sounds like its throwing an error. Alternatively you could enable displaying of PHP errors. details here: -v19x-frequently-asked-questions-faq#2

Invalid email addresses that are used when you register will result in your password being sent to never-never-land. You will never get your password. You must enter a valid email address when you register or when you change your email address. If you don't, we can't help you. Your only option is to reregister with a different name.If you are an Earthlink customer, make sure you allow email from miata.net and from eunos.net. We will not reply to the automated email asking us to request that you permit our outgoing mail to you.Finally, some major ISPs that have taken a shotgun approach to spam with the result that they're "throwing the baby out with the bath water." These ISPs have decided that we are spammers and have our servers blacklisted. Despite the fact that we have never sent out spam, we have closed mail relays, and we run our own servers, they still seem to be convinced that we are spammers and block email from our primary mail server. Why? Well, its because they can not tell the difference between a spammer and an unwitting victim. This is what we think is happening:Joe Spammer decides to send out a million spam messages. However, Joe does not want to use his real email address as a return address since he knows that will just get him blocked. So what does Joe do? He uses a fake address - something along the lines of ikjrark8r@cox.net. He then bombards the Miata.net server with a milllion message to a million non-existent addresses on Miata.net. What does our mail server do in response? We politely send a bounce message back to ikjrark8r@cox.net informing Joe that the address he is sending to is invalid. This causes the million bounce messages to go to an invalid address at cox.net instead of back to Joe. Cox sees all these bounce messages coming in from the Miata.net mail server and jumps to the incorrect conclusion that Miata.net is the originating spammer.There is little we can do about it except to inform you. We also think you should complain to your ISP that they are preventing you from legitimate use of the Internet, and then you should find another ISP.

I can't activate my account. What should I do?If you follow the instructions in the email exactly, you will have notrouble activating. Start by having new activation codes sent to you. Go to this address: =requestemail Check your email program for a message from "MX-5 Miata Forum" Look in the message for the following: To complete your registration, please visit the following link: Click on the link, or copy and paste it into your browser. You will be directed to a page in your browser that should say: Thank you, Your Username. Your registration is now complete.Some notes:If you did not get the codes via email, check your spam folder. Your ISP may be blocking it.When you request codes, only click once. If you request it a second time, the first one becomes invalid and will not work.You must activate within 24 hours or the codes become invalid.
