COURTNEY L. JUELICH

Welcome

I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Iowa. Prior to attending the University of Iowa I received my Masters in political science from Stony Brook University and a bachelors degree in political science and public administration from Winona State University. I am also completing my certificate in college teaching.

My research explores political participation and political behavior in the American states. My research focuses on modern implications of identity politics (age, generation, gender, and race).

I have solo-instructed five courses in American politics: social media and politics, political behavior, public policy, political psychology, and campaign and election reforms. I was awarded an annual excellence in teaching award in 2019 and

My dissertation, "Millennials Rising: A New Resource Model for Youth Political Participation," focuses on how the traditional resource model of political participation ought to be reimagined for American Millennials. My dissertation looks at the political effects of student debt, issue salience in policy, electoral laws and their effects on newer voters, and how digital media is transforming political participation.
