Courage the Cowardly Dog is an American animated television series created and directed by John R. Dilworth. The pilot episode, "The Chicken from Outer Space", originally aired as part of What a Cartoon! on February 18, 1996. The series officially premiered on Cartoon Network on November 12, 1999, and ended on November 22, 2002, with a total of 52 episodes over the course of four seasons. A CGI special titled "The Fog of Courage" was broadcast on Cartoon Network in Southeast Asia on October 31, 2014. The series is about an anthropomorphic dog named Courage, who lives with an elderly couple in Nowhere, Kansas. In each episode, the trio are thrown into bizarre and frequently disturbing misadventures, often involving the paranormal or supernatural.

IMHO Windmill Vandals and The Quilt Club are typical episodes that deserve more fame, because they are as genuine terrific as King Ramses for example. I also like The Serpent of Evil River, Dome of Doom or Uncommon Cold.

When you were a kid you may not have realized the show was a horror-comedy. It did a good job of scaring the bejeesus out of you with its outlandish episodes, while also just being a goofy show. Let's take a look at the highest-ranked episodes of Courage's misadventures in the middle of nowhere.

I was watching the cowardly dog's courage, I don't remember how many hours I was watching this cartoon, but when the episode "the mask" started, the episode became distorted and strange. I had seen the episode "the mask" many times, but the episode was strange and distorted, as voices were different and the characters eustace and courage were in the cemetery. If the dog's courage is a caricature of horror, Muriel died and, every moment, cries out for courage, that he was guilty. I thought it was a little weird, but it could be a special episode, so I wasn't that scared.

But right after Eustace's speech was shown a flashback, when muriel had let courage fall to the ground and he got hurt, and then he was angry with muriel. But then the courage took a knife and pulled the brain out of the muriel. The scene was extremely violent and realistic, I got sick just watching this scene.but at that exact moment eustace entered the room and screamed in fright. the episode ended and i was super scared i turned off the tv and left.

The next day I asked my friends and family if they saw what happened in that episode of courage the cowardly dog but they said that the episode "the mask" had only passed the other night. But at that moment my TV turned on by itself and the cowardly dog was showing courage, but a continuation of the episode that passed last night.

But in that continuation the courage was also dead, and the police were investigating the crime scene. In the end they blamed Eustace and took him to the "Nowhere" prison sentenced to 30 years in prison. All those years passed and when they were release the eustace, he was dead. The police investigated the prison camera and saw a demon killing the eustace.

There's something about being scared as a kid that's kind of entrancing. Courage the Cowardly Dog was always a show that gave me nightmares, but it also captivated my young mind in a way I couldn't describe. It was the definition of finding something so strange you just want to look away from it, but you can't. Despite being a children's show, there were definitely some creepy Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes that our parents should not have let us watch at such a young age.

While every episode of this show was essentially the perfect formula for a nightmare, there were a few that stood out among the rest (and may or may not continue to haunt me to this day). These are some of the creepiest Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes, so go ahead and remind yourself of all the terrifying "things he did for love."

First of all, how was I expected to know what a weevil was as a kid (I'm still not sure I know)? Whatever it is, it's definitely not supposed to be the size of a human. But, Eustace (ugh) had to go and hit the only person-sized weevil in existence with his truck, causing Muriel to invite him into their home as he recovered. Generally helpful and polite, the weevil has a horrible secret: He sucks the energy from humans using his creepy fly-like tongue to satisfy his hunger. This definitely encouraged me not to talk to strangers when I was younger.

Slightly less outwardly creepy as some of the other Courage episodes, this one may have forced you to pay attention as a kid to get what it was really supposed to be about. A (seemingly) friendly pig who runs a restaurant raises Courage's suspicions when customers keep disappearing into the back room of the establishment. Courage deduces that the pig is killing the humans and using their flesh as meat in his hamburgers. That's totally a kid-friendly TV show plot, right?

In a typical episode, Muriel is captured or threatened in some way, and Courage is usually the one to rescue her. Muriel's cooking often features vinegar as a special ingredient; this appears as a gag in several episodes of the show.

Courage the Cowardly Dog is an American animated television series created and directed by John R. Dilworth for Cartoon Network. The series ran for 4 seasons from November 12, 1999 to November 22, 2002, with 52 episodes altogether. The pilot episode, "The Chicken from Outer Space", originally debuted on What a Cartoon! in 1996, and in that year was nominated for an Oscar.

Even the cartoons with the silliest concepts or settings have produced surprisingly deep and emotional episodes that have made people think twice about writing them off as exclusively for children. Over the years, popular cartoons have covered topics such as grief, homelessness, drug use, mental health, and death.

Rugrats follows a group of babies who go on adventures with nothing more than a toy screwdriver and their imagination. One of the babies, Chuckie, is the reluctant and cowardly member of the group and is raised by his single father, Chaz. It's not until the Rugrats episode, "Mother's Day," that the audience learns what happened to his mother.

The protagonist of Hey Arnold spends numerous episodes helping out his friends and family. During the show's Christmas special, Arnold goes above and beyond to make the holiday extra special for one of the people in his boarding house, Mr. Hyunh.

Rocko's Modern Life features the daily life of a wallaby named Rocko. The show was known for being ahead of its time with its social satire, and most episodes revolved around relatable plot points like the dreaded process of going to the Department of Motor Vehicles. The episode "Who's For Dinner" takes a somewhat serious approach to adoption.

Doug revolves around the titular middle schooler and his friends in the town of Bluffington. Many episodes of the series cover important topics like overcoming fears, dealing with bullies, and the importance of friendship. One episode, "Doug's Hot Property," puts Doug in a surprisingly mature predicament that is considered a good lesson for a children's show.

There are endless unsettling moments in Courage the Cowardly Dog. The creepiest episodes involve old-world abominations that seem out of place in the show's modern setting. If you live in rural Kansas, you might be wary of bears and tornadoes, but have you ever stopped to consider the impending threat of a zombie film director?

If there's one thing in this world that always manages to make me smile, it's a little good, old-fashioned Nightmare Fuel. For those of you out there who are not complete hermits and haven't wasted what probably amounts to months of your life on TV Tropes, I'll explain. Nightmare Fuel is that magic element in media that scared the bejeebus out of you as a child, but was never meant to. Most of it wasn't intentional. The vast majority of stuff that ends up being Nightmare Fuel was supposed to be entertaining. But, sadly, someone goofed, and what was meant to be amusing turned into something ready to crawl into our young minds and haunt us well into adulthood.

That being said, I'd be lying if I said there wasn't anything out there that was meant to scare, but still be intended for young audiences. We've all seen plenty of these in our lives - Are You Afriad of the Dark?, several Disney movies, and even a few episodes of Care Bears and My Little Pony, to name only a few off the top of my head. But, amongst all this frightening stuffs, there is one show that stands out from all the others. One show that, on certain parts on the internet, the very title is synonymus with "fear".

That show? Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Those of you who grew up in the "Golden Age of Cartoons" know what I'm talking about. For you youngin's out there who aren't in the know, Courage the Cowardly Dog was a Cartoon Network show that ran from 1999 to 2002, with a total of four seasons and fifty-two episodes. The basic premise revolved around the titular cowardly dog, Courage, who lived with his two owners - the lovable old granny, Muriel Bagge, and her greedy bastard of a husband, Eustace - who live in the Middle of Nowhere (literally; they live in Nowhere, Kansas). To quote the opening narration "freaky stuff happens in Nowhere. It's up to Courage to save his new home!"

This show is considered something of a classic. It's fondly remembered by even casual fans for its clever writing, many a hiliarious scene, and, oh yeah, its OFF-THE-CHARTS FREAKY FACTOR!

Seriously, with the level of scary that went down in this show, people still wonder how on earth this series ran for so long without at least getting a threat to be pulled off the air (my guess is that the censors just really liked it, but whatever). Just go on TV Tropes and look up Nightmare Fuel, under Western Animation; this show has its own page. If that isn't some hardcore terror, I don't what is.

But what episodes were the scariest? Which episodes caused those most brick-shitting, the most pants-wetting, the most ear-spilitting shrieking ever brought on by a children's cartoon?

I don't know, but doesn't mean I can't make a countdown to pretend I do! So, here it is, the top ten scariest episodes of Courage the Cowardly Dog. e24fc04721
