This Privacy Policy explains how Couple AI collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the mobile application (the "App"). The App is designed to help you review conversation screenshots and receive communication suggestions.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
We collect only the information needed to provide the App's features.
You may provide:
Chat screenshots that you choose to upload for analysis.
Optional context that you type into the App.
Your display name or nickname.
Your selected language.
Feedback or support messages you send by email.
Please do not upload screenshots or text that contain sensitive personal information unless you are comfortable having that content processed to provide the App's features. Sensitive information may include government IDs, financial details, passwords, addresses, health information, private photos, or highly personal conversations.
The App may store certain preferences locally on your device, such as:
Whether you have completed onboarding.
Your selected language.
Your display name or nickname.
Whether you have seen the premium screen.
This local information helps the App remember your setup and does not create a public profile.
When you choose to generate feedback, the App sends the screenshots and optional context you selected to Firebase AI services powered by Google Gemini so the App can generate conversation analysis and suggested replies.
Before the first transmission, the App shows an in-app disclosure identifying Google Firebase AI/Gemini, describing the screenshots and text that will be sent, and asks for your permission. If you do not allow sharing, the content is not sent and AI-powered features remain unavailable.
We use this content only to provide the requested AI-powered feedback. You should only upload conversations that you have the right to use and share for this purpose.
If premium subscriptions or paid features are enabled, purchases are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Apple may provide purchase status information needed to unlock or restore paid features.
The App may receive limited technical information needed to operate the service, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security. This may include device type, operating system version, app version, timestamps, and service error information.
We use information to:
Analyze uploaded chat screenshots and optional context.
Generate conversation feedback and suggested replies.
Provide onboarding, language, and profile preferences.
Respond to support or feedback emails.
Maintain, debug, secure, and improve the App.
Provide, manage, or restore premium features if enabled.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not use uploaded chat screenshots to create a public profile.
Where applicable privacy laws require a legal basis, we process information based on one or more of the following:
Your consent, when you choose to upload screenshots, enter context, or contact us.
Performance of a contract, when processing is needed to provide the App features you request.
Legitimate interests, such as maintaining security, preventing abuse, improving reliability, and responding to support requests.
Legal obligations, when required by law.
You may withdraw consent by deleting your local profile data from the App, deleting the App, or contacting us.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with service providers only as needed to operate the App, including:
Google Firebase and Firebase AI services, for app infrastructure and AI processing.
Apple, for in-app purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and App Store services.
Email providers, if you contact us for support or feedback.
We require service providers handling personal data on our behalf to protect it using safeguards that are the same as or equivalent to those described in this policy and applicable law. These providers also process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or enforce our Terms of Use.
Local preferences remain on your device until you reset them, delete the App, or clear the App's data.
Uploaded screenshots and context are processed to generate your requested results. We do not intentionally use uploaded screenshots to build a public user profile. Service providers may retain request data for limited periods according to their own policies, security requirements, and legal obligations.
Support emails may be retained as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain business records, and protect legal rights.
You control what you upload. You can choose not to upload screenshots or provide optional context.
You can remove local profile and onboarding data in the App by using the reset or delete profile option, where available. You can also delete the App from your device to remove locally stored App data.
You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available under applicable law.
The current App experience stores profile setup information locally on your device and does not require a traditional public account. If account-based features are added later, we will provide an in-app way to request account deletion and update this Privacy Policy.
The App requests photo library access only when you choose to select chat screenshots for analysis. The App does not need access to your entire photo library to function beyond the screenshot selection feature.
You can manage photo access through your device settings.
The App is not intended for children under 13, and it is not directed to children. Do not use the App if you are under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your location, you should use the App only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
The App may process screenshots that include personal conversations. You are responsible for reviewing screenshots before uploading them and avoiding content you do not want processed. You should not upload:
Passwords, access codes, or financial information.
Government identification numbers.
Medical or health information.
Private images or explicit content.
Conversations you do not have permission to use.
Information that could harm, harass, or identify another person without a lawful reason.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no app, network, or online service can guarantee complete security. You use the App at your own risk and should avoid uploading information that is highly sensitive or confidential.
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your location. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator.
We do not sell personal information as the term is commonly used under California privacy law. We also do not knowingly sell or share personal information of users under 16.
The App may include links to third-party websites, services, or policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. Review their privacy policies before using them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
