1. INTRODUCTION & PRIVACY COMMITMENT

Welcome to Countdown Ring, developed and operated by Orenda Labs ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you use the Countdown Ring mobile application for Android.

Countdown Ring is designed with an "Offline-First" privacy architecture. All your countdown events, target dates, event notes, custom colors, fonts, recurrence settings, and home screen widget preferences are stored exclusively on your local device. We do not operate external cloud servers to collect or store your personal countdowns.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT & LOCAL STORAGE

A. User-Created Event Data (Local Storage Only)

- Event Titles & Descriptions

- Target Dates, Hours, and Minutes

- Custom Event Notes

- Color Theme Swatches & Font Styles

- Recurrence & Reminders Rules

- Active Home Screen Widget Layouts

All of the above data is stored locally in an isolated SQLite Room Database on your device. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to Orenda Labs or any third party.

B. Automatically Collected Technical Data

To ensure app stability and fix bugs, Countdown Ring uses standard Google Firebase telemetry:

- Device hardware model and manufacturer

- Android OS version and system language

- Non-identifiable app performance metrics (launch time, screen transitions)

- Anonymous crash logs and stack traces via Firebase Crashlytics

3. ANDROID SYSTEM PERMISSIONS & JUSTIFICATION

Countdown Ring requests only the minimal Android permissions necessary for its core features:

- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13+ to deliver countdown alarm alerts when an event reaches zero.

- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM: Required to schedule exact-second countdown notifications.

- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Required to automatically re-schedule active countdown alarms and refresh Home Screen widgets after a device reboot.

- VIBRATE: Required to provide tactile feedback for alarm alerts and drag-and-drop widget reordering.

- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used exclusively for Google Firebase telemetry and external support links.

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & POLICY LINKS

Countdown Ring integrates trusted third-party Google SDKs. You can review their privacy policies below:

5. DATA DELETION & RETENTION

Since all user data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over data deletion:

- Clear Data: You can instantly delete all saved events, notes, and preferences by going to Android Settings -> Apps -> Countdown Ring -> Storage -> Clear Data.

- Uninstall: Uninstalling the application automatically purges all app database files from your device.

- Telemetry Purge Request: To request deletion of anonymous crash logs, email support@orendalabs.com with subject "Data Deletion Request".

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Countdown Ring does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that a child has provided us with technical data, please contact us for immediate removal.

PART II: TERMS AND CONDITIONS & SERVICE AGREEMENT

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By downloading, installing, or using Countdown Ring, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must immediately uninstall and discontinue use of the app.

2. PERMITTED APP USAGE

Countdown Ring is provided for personal event tracking, reminder notifications, and aesthetic home screen widget displays. You agree to use the app in compliance with all applicable laws:

- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, dissemble, or attempt to derive source code from Countdown Ring.

- You may not bypass or alter any security features, licensing mechanisms, or software boundaries.

3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

All software code, ring rendering algorithms, Glance home widget engine, visual designs, brand names, and logos associated with Countdown Ring are the sole intellectual property of Orenda Labs.

4. COUNTDOWN & ALARM DISCLAIMER

Countdown Ring utilizes high-precision Android OS AlarmManager APIs. However:

- Notification and alarm delivery depends on Android OS battery optimization settings, Doze Mode, and device manufacturer background policies.

- Users are advised to disable aggressive battery optimization for Countdown Ring in system settings to ensure uninterrupted alarm delivery.

- Countdown Ring is provided as a convenience tool and should not be relied upon as the sole reminder for critical medical, legal, or emergency deadlines.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Orenda Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including missed appointments, lost time, or data loss) arising out of or in connection with your use of the app.

6. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER

Countdown Ring is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

7. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
