SAVE THE DATE: April 26 SPAGHETTI DINNER and SILENT AUCTION

Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction: April 26!

Save the date! Invite your neighbors! This is the annual dinner served by our very own 5th grade students. The Silent Auction features your favorite restaurants, extra time with our special teachers, sports gear, gift baskets and so much more. Come hungry and bring your wallet!

The Spaghetti Dinner Committee is ready to go! Save the date, everyone (April 26th) for a night of awesome food and fun where our 5th graders get to be servers and the whole community gets to give back to Creekside through bidding on auction items donated by local businesses! We are starting to work on getting auction donation items, and we have excellent instructions at this link - Auction Instructions (including a screencast video!!!) explaining what we need and how to get it. These instructions make this literally the easiest year to help support Creekside's auction! While 5th grade families are primarily responsible for collecting the donations, ALL families are welcome (and needed) to help out! Getting 5 donations this year (5th grade families are asked to get 5-10 donations each) will give you a good idea of what's involved for the year that YOUR child is in 5th grade and you are in charge of this event! We will also probably need a handful of non-5th-grade volunteers on the day of the dinner, and a signup sheet for those needs will be sent out in March & April.

Email Stephanie Pease (stephanie.pease@gmail.com) for a copy of the donation letter that businesses require for their records with all the information they need. We know soliciting can feel intimidating, but literally all you need to say (in person or an email) is "Hi, my kiddo attends Creekside, a local elementary school in South Boulder. We have a yearly silent auction, and we are wondering if your business would like to donate a good or service? Would you like to take this flyer with our information?". That's really it!

Every year, in addition to the community donations, Creekside families contribute items for some of the gift baskets auctioned off at the spaghetti dinner. All of the gift baskets have a theme, and the theme is determined by your child(ren)'s grade level. This year, the grade-level themes are as follows:

Pre-K -- Gardening • Kindergarten -- Beach Day • First Grade -- Arts and Crafts • Second Grade -- Spa Day • Third Grade -- Death By Chocolate • Fourth Grade -- Sunday Morning Brunch • Fifth Grade -- Family Game Night

The items can be brought to school or sent with your child. There will be boxes for each grade outside the classrooms starting March 11th. Pick-ups will go until April 5th. To sign up, go to https://helpatschool.org/schools/4/events/1423, find your child's grade and choose from the items listed, or pick an item you think would fit the category.

Please feel free to send any and all questions to Stephanie Pease (Spaghetti Dinner Chair; stephanie.pease@gmail.com), Megan Elphingstone (Silent Auction Co-Chair - meganelph@gmail.com) or Jenn Brauner (Silent Auction Co-Chair - jennbrauner@hotmail.com).

Dodging for Creekside!

Creekside's annual Dodgeball Fundraiser went off with a flurry of flying colors. This is the 9th year running and is always a favorite for the students. Teachers, parents and alum had a chance to show off their athletic prowess flinging squishy balls at running children. Creekside Cougars showed stellar sportsmanship as the afternoons were filled fun and laughter. About 115 students and 35 alumni and adults participated.

Thanks go to all the parent volunteers who made this possible: Ryan Webb organized the event. Coach L and David Elphingstone helped referee the games. Lori Schell, Heather Grooters, Megan and Rashid Farooqui pitched in to check in participants. This event raised $3000 for our students.
