National TSA has also created a member of the month initiative .

This month, the high school warm-up challenge is based around Board Game Design, and the middle school warm-up challenge is based around Construction Challenge.

Engaging Your Chapter
How to get Participation in a Virtual Setting
Many chapters will transition to a virtual setting for the foreseeable future. It just as important as ever to keep your chapter engaged. The first step of keeping you chapter engaged is to have open communication.
Here's some great tools to keep in touch with your chapter:
Remind
Google Classroom
GroupMe
Make sure to schedule meetings with your chapter through Zoom or Google Classroom. There are many ways to get your chapter involved during online meetings with things like engaging presentations or online events. Hosting online workshops or even fun events like movie nights are other great ways to keep your chapter active.
New Chapter Officer Teams
How to Bond with Your Team in a Virtual Environment
We hope that this list will be helpful in giving all of you a few new ideas about how to interact with new chapter Officer Teams in a virtual setting where bonding may be harder.
Virtual Game Nights
There are tons of fun games online, like Werewolf or trivia games that can help officers get more comfortable around each other and have fun!
Zoom Ice Breakers
You can use virtual backgrounds as a way to learn about each other. (e.g. Change your background to your favorite place.)
At-Home Shared Activities
These can be anything from everyone baking the same cookie recipe to painting from the same Bob Ross tutorial. Having all the officers participate in the same activity, even from different homes on a Zoom, can create a fun environment where they can be comfortable around each other.
Chapter Affiliation
Chapter affiliation is now open! National TSA has revamped their membership system to be more robust and comprehensive, so advisors must create a new account. Remember, you can affiliate now and add members later. As soon as you affiliate your chapter, you will have access to resources provided by the national association including leadership materials, chapter management tools, and a student member site. You will also have access to the competitive events guides by clicking on the "Total TSA" tab. There are resources on the site to help you with navigation. Colorado TSA affiliation ends on December 1st!
What has the State Officer Team been up to?
CACTE
The Behind the Scenes of State Officer Leadership
CACTE is an annual conference for teachers to gain professional development on Career and Technical Education (CTE). CACTE allows the State Officer Team to give teachers guidance on how to have a strong Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). This year, CACTE was a virtual event. The first day we held office hours where advisors could ask questions about Colorado TSA and chapter management best practices. The next day followed with a presentation of our Program of Work along with how to manage CTSOs flipped classroom environment. We enjoyed working directly with Chapter Advisors!
CTSO Training
State Officers Taking a Step Forward
State Officers from all CTSOs were given top quality training on a variety of topics ranging from advocacy to team building to engagement. The state officer training was held virtually this year and was led by Hypeline Studios. With all of the knowledge that the COTSA State Officer team has acquired, we will do our best to lead Colorado TSA and thrive throughout these unprecedented times!
We look forward to passing some of what we learned to you at the CTSO Leadership Kickoff on September 23, 2020.
Informational Videos
Over the summer, we worked on creating informational videos for official dress, documentation, and presentations/interviews.
