MONTHLY CREEK STEWARDSHIP DAYS (3rd Saturdays)
NEXT ONE: November 21, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
We will meet again by the Elderberry Bridge near McGinnis Circle (see map below). We’ll be removing Himalayan blackberries and French broom and may be planting and/or seeding some new flowering pollinator plants. Please register here.
NOTE: Please wear protective clothing, long sleeves and pants, sturdy close-toed shoes, and dress for the weather, with layers, hat, sun protection, water bottle, etc. as needed, and gloves if you have them. If you have any favorite tools please bring them.

PAST EVENTS
Stewardship Day - October 17, 2026
Twenty volunteers came and removed lots of blackberry and French broom from the area by Elderberry Bridge. Another great day of community connection and care!
CREEK WEEK event - September 20, 2026
We participated again in this annual regional event which covers the whole Russian River watershed and brings communities together to celebrate, clean, improve and explore local waterways. We had three sites: one for removing trash from the Laguna de Santa Rosa, and two others where we removed invasive non-native plants to help restore the local ecology.
Walk, Wonder and Wild Things - April 18, 2026
A guided nature walk and habitat garden visit at University Elementary, with local wildlife documented via the iNaturalist app.
Habitat Restoration: November 2025 – March 2026
Our first season, we planted native basket sedge, yarrow, and flowering currant along the Laguna — while clearing out invasive species like Himalayan blackberry, privet, and Italian buckthorn to give native plants room to thrive.
