JESSICA CLARK, LICSW
Jessica Clark, LICSW is a seasoned clinician specializing in supporting clients impacted by trauma. She spent over 20 years overseeing and providing service to those impacted by sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. She facilitated the RI Anti-Trafficking Task Force for four years, created the state’s only intensive clinical programming for trafficking victims (the STAAR Program) and is the state’s leading expert in clinical treatment for victims of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC). Jessica obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Rhode Island College. She is trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Critical Incident Desensitization (CID) Protocol and is an Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGLA) Certified Mental Health Specialist. Jessica provides training locally and nationally on CSEC, offers clinical consultation for agencies working with high-risk youth, and provides clinical supervision for trauma-treatment providers. In her private practice, Jessica works with adolescents and adults. She also offers parenting-focused treatment for non-offending caregivers of youth who have been impacted by sexual abuse or sexual exploitation.
CRISTINA COSTA, LICSW, AAT
Cristina is a seasoned clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience serving diverse communities across Rhode Island. She holds a Master of Social Work from Boston College and dual undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Human Development & Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island, where she was a Talent Development Program alumna and Ronald E. McNair Scholar.
Cristina’s career spans residential youth care, foster care and adoption, advocacy, school-based services, emergency and inpatient medical care, and afterschool programming. She has worked extensively with LGBTQ+ individuals, first-generation families, and victims of crime. She is also a certified Auricular Acu-Technician, trained in the Five Needle Protocol (5NP) for holistic emotional and physical support.
Currently, Cristina serves as Director of the Counseling Center at Rhode Island College and maintains a private practice in East Providence, specializing in care for children and young adults who are first-generation and/or LGBTQ+. A long-standing member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), she contributes to the Program Planning Committee and other subcommittees shaping professional development statewide.
Born and raised in Providence, Cristina is fluent in Portuguese and English. She is deeply committed to advancing diversity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices within the social work profession.
