Is anyone else experiencing occasional audio crackle/dropouts on their PlayStation Portal? The image streaming quality is basically perfect for me, but for whatever reason, I get audio crackling every 10-15 seconds or so, even on the PS5 home screen with the background music.

After I installed the whole system including KDE Plasma DE I launched Firefox and tried to play a random YouTube video. Video and audio start crackling/stuttering, make a terrible noise for few seconds (about 3-5) and stop playing with the loading symbol on top of the video.

The crackling is present even when any system sound is played.

I tried installing rtkit, which I uninstalled because it didn't change anything and also installed xdg-desktop-portal-kde, but have no idea how to use it and there is no service to start as xdg-desktop-portal-kde.

So if you get that message, use any of the portals from the Teleportation Nexus, and it should take you to Frostfire Ridge, where you will be guided to an enemy by a friendly NPC. Kill the enemy and you get your Everburning Crystal.

Right before listenning to any audio source (mp4, youtube, facebook videos, notification sounds, etc) I always hear a popping/crackling sound. Sometimes, it makes the popping/crackling sound randomly, especially while browsing the web. I'm pretty sure there is a "cure" for this, because it doesn't do any of that with my fedora bootable usb.

Air Special - Dimension Break

Creates a portal that you can use to escape an attack, or you can use it to attack the opponent. You can hold down both buttons to hide in the portal for a bit. When you come out of this portal, you always attack in the direction of the opponent. Be careful using this, because Pao is vulnerable as she enters the portal.

Ground Special - Crack Kick

Creates an exit portal that can only be opened after a Dimension Break. When you come out of this portal, you always attack in the direction of the opponent.

Pros & Cons

+Horizontal kick closes distance quickly

+Portal crack remains on screen permanently, and allows for pressure/a means of escape

+Can hide in portals

+Kickback > kick is effective, makes opponents second guess their approach

+Kick angle allows you to catch people on the way down with little chance to counter

-Lowest dive in the game

-Portal crack can be destroyed by the opponent. However, you might be able to use this to your advantage vs. opponents who actively try to destroy cracks.

-Kick is a little on the slow side

Many cases of crackling ears will resolve on their own with time. You probably have clogged eustachian tubes if the sound shows up during a cold or with allergies. Using an over-the-counter decongestant can help unclog your ears while you wait for your body to recover.

I am having the same issue. I am on a brand new Alienware laptop. i7, 16gb ram, etc. I have 1 Gbps internet, etc. I have tried every driver I know to try, upgraded firmware, upgraded drivers, everything. I have been going back and for with NI/Traktor support for several days. Thus far, no potential solutions outside of stuff they have publicly posted for audio issues, and nothing that has actually worked. It's looking like the streaming thing just isn't feasible with Traktor Pro 3 at this point, at least for me. Posting here just to follow the thread. For sure this crackling sound happens specifically more in more bass-y parts of the songs, and it only happens with streaming through Beatport. Downloaded songs are not effected. I was really excited to have access to mix whatever from Beatport, but it's looking like a dj pool might be a better option until they figure this out. The crackles drive me absolutely insane. I can't focus on anything but the crackles.

So after a recent update I suddenly had this issue. To get rid of the crackling I switched back to a different Windows version. I still am using 11. No issues now. I also tweaked the registry so that I update Windows myself. No more unexpected auto updates.

I decided to do the portal and have posted a WIP below. It is currently just the active state for the portal. There are a few issues, most notably a seam artifact that I will have to smooth out. I have been inspired recently by the VFX in Guardians of the Galaxy, so attempted to create an unstable energy portal in that vein.

Good suggestion and thanks for the feedback! I plan on giving the portal shader an update at some point soon to do just that! Going to try to bring some more color values in there as well, which I started doing a little with the wispy bits (which start purple and end blue).

Worked a bit more this evening on the portal. I have a list of elements I still want to add/polish on it, but here is the current update for it! The video got a little washed out when I uploaded it unfortunately.

I feel that the effects around the chargeup could and should be more powerful, make the effects faster, more intense, beams of light that crackle on from magical-purple-cracks, the book starts swirl and shake more because its about to explode then a big flash big and the portal is active.

@ChrisNordgren Thanks for the suggestions! I agree, there definitely should be some more anticipation to the portal explosion. The anticipation and main portal explosion should definitely be the priority! I got too excited thinking about other little details, haha. I also want to try to get some more dimension into the portal mesh, maybe by having it curve back on the edges and then adding the wispy bits coming off in all directions, which should hopefully help not make it feel so flat in certain views. Also agree with you about the camera! I was trying to show a closeup of the book crack itself, but the cut is a little jarring. Great feedback!

@NateLane the mist was created with two particle emitters using a looping flipbook made from a fluid sim created in maya. For the particle systems there is one that is aligned flat with the ground to provide a misty base and then the other just flowing forward from the portal with depth fade to fade into the ground as it gets close. Nothing too crazy. I found the more particles/little things flying around that I added made the effect lose a little bit of focus, so I tried to keep the mist just sparse enough and not too insanely detailed. Once the effect is finished I might post a quick little breakdown in the final video if I have time!

How do I proceed from here? Is it a Legion Chromie thing I need to change or quests I need to finish? Do I just teleport to the Order Hall each day and hope for the text to appear, then click the only portal upstairs back to Dalaran?

I am facing issues with my microphone crackling and the sound not being 100% clear for my participants. I am using the Sony XM5 headset and I have tried using my older XM4 headset and the issue persists with the crackling.

I am hearing repeated crackling/popping noises and very quiet sound coming from my Bang & Olufsen speakers on my HP Laptop (I have provided the product name and number below). This is really causing me a lot of problems and I request anyone's kind help on how I can go about fixing this problem. be457b7860
