This Privacy Policy explains how Family Location Tracker (“the app”) collects, uses, shares, and stores information. By using the app, you acknowledge this policy.
Family Location Tracker helps family members share their locations with people in a private family group.
An Administrator creates a family group, invites members using a PIN, and manages group settings, location-sharing options, places, alerts, and subscriptions.
Members can choose when to share their location. Depending on the group's settings, members can view shared locations on the family map, or location visibility can be restricted to the Administrator.
Members can pause location sharing at any time. The app does not collect new location updates while sharing is paused.
We collect information needed to operate the app and provide its features.
We may collect:
Display name
Email address
Firebase user ID
You can create an account and sign in using email and password or Google Sign-In. Both methods use Firebase Authentication.
If you register using email and password, we may receive:
The display name you enter
Your email address
Your Firebase user ID
We store the information needed to create and manage your account in Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, where applicable.
We do not store your password in Cloud Firestore. Firebase Authentication handles password authentication.
We may send verification and password-reset emails when needed. Email verification requirements depend on the account configuration.
This information is used to authenticate you, maintain your profile, identify your account, and provide the app's features.
Other members of your family group may see your display name according to the group's settings.
Our app allows users to sign in using their Google account through Firebase Authentication. When you select Continue with Google, we may receive:
Your Google account name, which we use as your display name
Your Google account email address
Your Google profile photo URL, if Google provides one
Your Firebase user ID
We store the information needed to create and manage your account in Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, where applicable.
We may save your Google profile photo URL in your Firestore account profile. We do not copy the image file into our own storage as part of this process. When your profile photo is displayed, the app loads the image from Google using the saved URL.
Your name and, where available, profile photo may be visible to other members of your family group according to the app's sharing settings.
We do not store your Google account password. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. We do not access your Gmail messages, contacts, or other Google content through Google Sign-In.
We do not use your Google account name, email address, or profile photo for advertising.
We may collect and store:
Family group name
Group Administrator and member roles
Invitation PINs and membership information
Group owner identifier
Family group settings and location-sharing preferences
This information allows users to create, join, and manage private family groups.
When you enable location sharing, we may collect:
Latitude and longitude
Location update timestamps
Location-sharing status and session information
Location history, where the feature is enabled
Information needed to display members on the family map
Location information is used to show shared locations, maintain location history, and provide place-based alerts.
Location accuracy depends on the device, GPS signal, and network conditions.
Location sharing is controlled by the user. The app does not collect new location updates when sharing is paused or turned off.
Depending on the features you use, we may store:
Saved places, such as Home, School, and Work
Place names, coordinates, and geofence radius
Geofence entry and exit events
Arrival and departure alerts
Low-phone-battery alerts
Alert history and notification preferences
This information is used to provide the alerts and location features you configure.
We may collect:
Firebase Cloud Messaging token for push notifications
Phone battery level when location sharing is active and the feature requires it
Device identifiers needed to maintain tracking sessions or app functionality
App preferences, including appearance and notification settings
We use this information to maintain app functionality and deliver relevant notifications.
The Family Location Tracker Administrator may purchase a subscription through Google Play to increase the number of members allowed in a family group and reduce certain advertisements.
We may store:
Google Play product identifier
Subscription plan and billing period
Purchase status and expiry
Auto-renewal status, where available
Subscription entitlement information associated with the family group
Google Play processes payments. We use subscription information to apply the correct member limits and advertising settings.
We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details through this process.
The free plan may display advertisements through Google AdMob and related advertising partners.
Advertising partners may collect or process device advertising identifiers and other information according to their own policies and applicable consent requirements.
We do not use your Google account name, email address, or Google profile photo for advertising.
We use collected information to:
Create and authenticate user accounts
Maintain account profiles, including names and Google profile photo URLs
Create and manage family groups and invitations
Display shared family locations on the map
Enable users to start and pause location sharing
Maintain location history when the feature is enabled
Provide Home, School, Work, and other configured place alerts
Send low-battery and other relevant notifications
Manage subscriptions, member limits, and advertising settings
Provide customer support
Maintain app reliability, security, and performance
We do not sell your personal information.
Family Location Tracker is designed for private family-group location sharing.
Depending on group settings:
The Administrator may view members' shared locations and manage group settings.
Members may view the locations of other members who are sharing, if shared-map access is enabled.
If the group is configured for Administrator-only viewing, location visibility is restricted according to that setting.
Members may see other members' display names and profile photos when available.
Authorized group members may see relevant place alerts and location history provided by the app.
A member cannot access another family group merely by using the app.
We do not make family locations, account details, or profile information publicly available as part of the app's normal features.
We use third-party services to operate the app, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Maps, Google Play Billing, and Google AdMob. These providers may process information as needed to provide their services and under their applicable terms and privacy policies.
We do not provide your Google account name, email address, or profile photo to advertising networks for advertising purposes.
We request location and other device permissions when needed for app features.
Location permission allows the app to share a member's device location with their family group when sharing is enabled.
If the app supports background location sharing, location updates may continue while the app is not in the foreground, provided the user has enabled sharing and granted the required permissions.
A foreground service and its notification may be used to keep an active sharing session running, depending on the device and Android version.
We provide an in-app disclosure before using background location where required.
Notification permission may be requested to deliver arrival and departure alerts, low-battery notices, group-related notifications, and other configured alerts.
You can pause or stop location sharing using the app's controls. You can also manage permissions through your device settings.
When sharing is paused or turned off, the app does not collect new location updates for that sharing session.
Previously collected location history may remain stored according to the retention and deletion practices described in this policy.
The app may use the following services:
Firebase Authentication: Account registration, email/password authentication, and Google Sign-In.
Cloud Firestore: Storage of account profiles, family groups, membership, location data, history, places, alerts, settings, and subscription entitlements, as applicable.
Firebase Cloud Messaging: Push notifications.
Google Maps: Map display and location visualization.
Google Play Billing: Family-group subscription payments and entitlement management.
Google AdMob and related advertising partners: Advertisements on the free plan.
These services process information as needed to provide their functionality, subject to their applicable terms and privacy policies.
The free plan may display advertisements from Google AdMob and related advertising partners. These services may use a device advertising ID or other permitted identifiers under their own policies and applicable consent requirements.
Paid subscriptions may reduce certain advertisements, such as interstitial and native ads, while banner ads may continue to appear.
We do not use your Google account name, email address, or profile photo for advertising.
The family group Administrator may purchase a subscription through Google Play to increase the number of members allowed in the group and reduce certain advertisements.
The subscription applies to the family group according to the selected plan.
Google Play processes subscription payments. We store the subscription information needed to apply the plan, including its status, member limit, expiry, and applicable advertising settings.
If a subscription expires, the group may return to the free plan's member limit and advertising settings. Existing data is handled according to the app's data-retention practices and is not necessarily deleted solely because a subscription expires.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing corebeanstech@gmail.com from your registered email address.
Please include enough information to identify your account and verify that you are the account holder.
After processing a valid request, we will delete or anonymize personal information that is no longer needed to operate the service, including, where applicable:
Display name and email address
Firebase user ID and account profile
Saved Google profile photo URL
Family-group membership information associated with your account
Personal location and alert data associated with your account, subject to applicable requirements
Some information may need to be retained for legitimate security, legal, or operational reasons.
Removing a member from a family group may stop their access to that group but does not necessarily delete their account. Account deletion should be requested separately.
Family Location Tracker is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at corebeanstech@gmail.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deleting information where required.
Parents and guardians should supervise family-group membership and location-sharing choices where appropriate.
We use appropriate security measures to protect personal information, including secure data transmission and access controls.
We use Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore security rules to restrict access to accounts and family-group information according to the app's authorization model.
Users should only invite people they trust into their family group and should review their location-sharing settings regularly.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain account, family-group, location-history, place, alert, device, and subscription information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy.
The Google profile photo URL, if saved, is retained with the account for as long as it is needed for the user's profile.
When location sharing is paused, new location updates are not collected for that sharing session. Previously collected location history may remain until deleted or no longer needed.
After an account-deletion request, we delete or anonymize personal information as described in Section 9, subject to applicable legal, security, and operational requirements.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features, data practices, or legal requirements change.
We will update the effective date when this policy is revised. Where appropriate, important changes may also be communicated through the app or its privacy-policy page.
