This is a space where everyone is welcome to come and share their mutual love of all things cycling. Whether you've ridden for 20 years or you're just wanting to get started, there's a space for you. The co-op provides a space with tools, work stands, used parts, and basic new items like cables/housing/brake pads, etc. Beyond just tangible resources, the co-op aims to teach others how to maintain their bike in good working condition, as well as how to stay safe on the road & trails. Whether you need access to tools or would like to come and help others learn to fix their bike, we welcome you to take part in growing your local cycling community!
The bike co-op typically meets on the last Sunday of the month from 2pm to 6pm near the train depot in downtown Cookeville. Sign up for the email list via the link at the bottom of this page to receive information about upcoming bike co-op events.
If you have a bicycle that you have not ridden in years, or ride everyday but just cannot figure out where that annoying squeak is coming from, The Cookeville Bicycle Co-op can help. There are work stands and tools available for folks to use as well as knowledgeable volunteers who are there to lend a hand. Common fixes and repairs include brake adjustments, shifter adjustments, flat tire repair, cable replacements, cleaning, and basic part replacement. If the job is too big for us to complete at the co-op, we will be glad to point you in the direction of our local bike shops (Wilson's Bicycles, Caney Fork Cycles, Cookeville Bicycles, and Town Hill Bicycle Shop) which can handle just about anything.
