We are an organization of Cuban-Americans who recognize that:
The US embargo/blockade of Cuba was specifically designed to hurt the Cuban people.1
The US embargo/blockade of Cuba violates international law.2, 3
The US embargo/blockade is under the direct control of the US government, and can/should be lifted at any moment.
The US government seeks to influence Cuban politics in violation of Cuban sovereignty.
The Cuban government violates the human right to democracy and freedom of speech in Cuba.4
We demand:
No US military intervention in Cuba.
An end to the US embargo/blockade of Cuba.
No more US sanctions against Cuba.
Free travel and trade between the US and Cuba.
The closure of the US military base at Guantanamo Bay.
The redirection of US taxpayer funds currently allocated for Cuba-targeted propaganda (Radio Marti) towards direct aid to Cuba.5
We hope for:
A future in which Cuban-Americans and Cubans can have the sort of relationship that other US diaspora groups have with their nations of origin.
The free and equitable exchange of ideas, culture, goods, services, and the open movement of people between Cuba and the United States.
The safeguarding of Cuba’s right to self-determination and self-governance without the interference of external interests.
Increased democracy and freedom of speech for Cuban citizens in Cuba, but we strongly condemn any attempts by the US government to hurt the Cuban people in pursuit of these goals.
