Break grass with it and you'll be able to get a Grass Fibre.

Flint Axe

This is how you'll end up getting your first wood.  crafted with Fibre String, Flint Shard and a Stick. It has the Efficientcy of 1.8, Attack Speed of 0.9 and durablity of 32.
