NAVIGATOR Support & User Guide
NAVIGATOR is a field navigation and GIS mapping app for creating placemarks, routes, paths, area boundaries, shapes, measurements, slope readings, and recorded tracks.
The app is designed for outdoor field use, route planning, site marking, land boundary work, distance checking, and GPX/KML sharing.
Getting Started:
1. Open NAVIGATOR.
2. Allow Location Permission when asked.
3. Enable Precise Location for better accuracy.
4. Use the map to browse, mark places, create geometry, or start navigation.
For best results, use the app in an open-sky area when saving important location points.
Navigation Mode
Tap the Navigation button to center the map on your current location. Navigation mode helps you view your live position, speed, heading, distance, and movement direction.
Recorder Mode
Recorder mode saves your movement as a track. Use it while walking, driving, surveying a path, checking a road, or recording a boundary.
Before recording:
- Make sure Location Permission is enabled.
- Turn on Precise Location.
- Start recording only when you are ready.
- Stop and save the recording when finished.
If the app is used in a vehicle, keep the device stable and avoid force-closing the app during active recording.
Placemarks, Routes, Paths, Areas, and Shapes
Use the Flag menu to create field objects.
Placemarks:
Save important points with name, icon, color, comments, photos, and details.
Routes and Paths:
Create connected lines for movement, trails, roads, or planned routes.
Area Boundaries:
Create polygon boundaries for land, site, field, or project areas.
Shapes:
Create regular geometry and styled map objects.
Measure and Slope:
Use Measure for distance and bearing. Use Compute Slope for slope-style readings when elevation data is available.
Tap a saved object on the map to open its tooltip and available actions.
Import and Export
NAVIGATOR supports GPX, KML, and NAVIGATOR Package files.
Use GPX or KML for common GIS compatibility.
Use NAVIGATOR Package for best phone-to-phone transfer because it can preserve app-specific styling and metadata better.
Premium
Some advanced tools may require Premium access. Premium purchases and restore are handled by Apple.
To purchase or restore:
1. Open User Account.
2. Go to Premium.
3. Choose a plan or tap Restore Purchases.
If Premium does not unlock, connect to the internet once and use Restore Purchases again.
Troubleshooting
Location not showing:
Check iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > NAVIGATOR. Enable location access and Precise Location.
Map feels slow:
Hide unnecessary objects, reduce visible overlays, close large sheets, and zoom to a practical level.
Import file not showing correctly:
Try using NAVIGATOR Package format for best restoration. Standard GPX/KML may not preserve all custom icons, colors, or metadata.
Recorder issue:
Make sure location permission is enabled and the app is not force-closed during recording.
