Welcome to our Contacts application ("App"), developed by Mecha Byte ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our App or related services ("Services"). It also outlines your rights under applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), the Brazilian General Data Protection Law ("LGPD"), and Google Play policies. Our goal is to be transparent about our data practices and ensure your privacy is protected.
This Privacy Policy is an integral part of our End User License Agreement ("EULA"). Any capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the EULA.
We collect and use specific types of data to provide and improve the functionality of our App. Below is a detailed explanation of the information we collect and how it is used:
Contacts Information: We access your contacts to enable you to manage, edit, and save contact information within the App. This includes names, phone numbers, email addresses, and other details stored in your device's contact list. This data is used solely to provide core App functionality, such as organizing and displaying your contacts.
Call Logs: The App accesses your call logs to allow you to view and manage your recent call history, including details of incoming, outgoing, and missed calls (e.g., phone numbers, timestamps, and call duration). This helps you track communication directly within the App.
Phone State Information: We access phone state information, such as incoming and outgoing call statuses, to enable features like call management within the App. This includes information about whether a call is in progress or the device's phone number.
Storage Access: We access your device’s storage to read and write data, such as saving profile pictures or other media files associated with your contacts. This ensures seamless integration of multimedia within the App.
Device Information: We collect device-related data, such as hardware details (e.g., model, operating system version) and system settings, to support crash reporting and optimize App performance. This helps us identify and fix issues to improve your experience.
Network and Internet Access: The App requires internet access to provide features like cloud synchronization, analytics, and displaying advertisements. This ensures you can back up data or access online features.
Notification Access: We use notifications to alert you about important updates, such as incoming calls, reminders, or other App-related events, even when the App is not actively in use.
All contact and call log data are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded or stored on external servers. Anonymized usage data collected by third-party services (e.g., Firebase) may be processed on their servers to improve App performance.
We implement reasonable security measures, such as encryption and access controls, to protect your personal data. However, no data transmission or storage system can guarantee 100% security, and we encourage you to take steps to secure your device.
The App requires specific permissions to function effectively. Below is a detailed list of permissions and their purposes:
Contacts Access (android.permission.READ_CONTACTS, android.permission.WRITE_CONTACTS): These permissions allow the App to read, display, and modify contact information stored on your device, such as names, phone numbers, and email addresses. This enables seamless management of your contacts within the App. We do not store or transmit contact data to third parties without your consent.
Call Log Access (android.permission.READ_CALL_LOG, android.permission.WRITE_CALL_LOG): These permissions allow the App to access and manage your call history, including details of incoming, outgoing, and missed calls. This functionality helps you efficiently track and manage communication. We do not store or share call log data with third parties without your consent.
Phone Call Access (android.permission.CALL_PHONE): This permission allows the App to initiate phone calls directly from the interface without requiring you to use the device’s dialer. Calls are only made with your explicit action, ensuring responsible use.
Notifications Access (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): This permission enables the App to send notifications to your device’s notification tray, keeping you informed about important updates, such as incoming calls or reminders, even when the App is not in use.
Display Over Other Apps (android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): This permission allows the App to display floating windows or overlays, such as alerts for incoming calls, ensuring critical information is visible even when using other apps.
Phone State Access (android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE): This permission allows the App to access device state information, such as call status, phone number, or network details, to support features like call management.
Wake Lock Access (android.permission.WAKE_LOCK): This permission prevents your device’s screen or CPU from entering sleep mode during tasks like ongoing calls, ensuring uninterrupted functionality.
Full-Screen Intent Access (android.permission.USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT): This permission allows the App to display full-screen notifications for urgent events, such as incoming calls, ensuring they are prominent even if the device is locked.
Foreground Service Access (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE): This permission enables the App to run foreground services for tasks that need to continue when the App is not visible, such as call management.
Foreground Service for Phone Calls (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_PHONE_CALL): This permission specifically supports ongoing phone call management in the foreground, ensuring seamless call-related features.
Vibration Access (android.permission.VIBRATE): This permission allows the App to control device vibration for haptic feedback, such as during incoming calls or notifications.
Audio Settings Access (android.permission.MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS): This permission allows the App to adjust audio settings, such as volume or audio output, to enhance features like call audio management.
System Settings Access (android.permission.WRITE_SETTINGS): This permission allows the App to modify system settings, such as ringtone or screen brightness, with your explicit approval via a system settings screen.
Network State Access (android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): This permission allows the App to check network status (e.g., Wi-Fi or mobile data) to manage online features like contact syncing.
Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET): This permission enables the App to access the internet for features like cloud backups, analytics, or ad display.
We use third-party services to enhance the App’s functionality. Below is a detailed list of these services and their data practices:
