Printer settings

Depending on your office setup, you may have a DYMO® print server, network printers, or shared printers.

Please note: It is the customer's responsibility to manage and maintain their printer settings, but here are some guidelines to review when sharing printers. Covetrus Support cannot configure this for practice. Please check with your local IT.

Printer Sharing (Windows OS)

If you have a DYMO label maker and want to make it available to other computers on your network, you can share the printer so that it can be discovered by other computers that are not directly connected to the printer. You can share the printer during installation or by accessing the printer properties, as explained below.

This Microsoft article will also walk you through the process if you click here.

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

  • Right-click on the DYMO printer and select Printer Properties.

  • Click the Share tab.

  • Click the box for "Share this printer." Enter the name of the share. Click the box for "Process print jobs on client computers"

  • Click Apply and OK.

Adding a network/shared printer

If your computer/device is on the same network as the shared printer, you should be able to install it on your local PC. The easiest way is to search for it.

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

  • Click Add a printer. It will start a search and fill in any local or shared printers it can find.

  • If the shared DYMO printer appears, select it and click Next.

  • A window should appear indicating that the printer has been installed successfully. Click Next and Finish.
