Constituency in cross-linguistic perspective
Constituency in cross-linguistic perspective is a consortium, primarily composed of field researchers, who seek to understand the notion of morphological, syntactic and phonological constituency across the languages of the world. This is done by attempting to dissect the notion of 'constituency test', to develop an extensible set of variables for cross-linguistic comparison. The application of the constituency tests will be made available in conference presentations, collected volumes and journal articles.
The overall goal is to develop to understand variation in linguistic architecture (i.e. the division of language structure into more or less distinct modules). If you are interested in more information about the project, please contact constituency.convergence@gmail.com
