With Wi-Fi Easy Connect, a network owner chooses one device as the central point of configuration. Usually this device is one with a rich user interface, such as a smartphone or tablet, but could be any device capable of scanning a QR code, NFC tag, or downloading device information from the cloud and running the protocol developed by Wi-Fi Alliance. The chosen device is considered a configurator and all other devices are enrollees. The user establishes a secure connection to an enrollee device by scanning the device-specific QR code, NFC tag, or downloading information from the cloud associated with that device. This prompts the protocol to run and automatically provisions the enrollee with the credentials needed to access the network.

A device can be seamlessly added to the network with near zero touch or true zero touch methods. Near zero touch provisioning and configuration can be done using a QR code. True zero touch provisioning and configuration can be done by downloading device information into the configurator from the cloud. The user simply powers up the device and it is automatically connected to the network.

There is no limit to the number of devices a configurator may provision for a network, unless the network itself has connection limitations. Additionally, Wi-Fi Easy Connect enables bulk enrollment of Wi-Fi devices.

The printer was connected and working fine until I had an Apple technician (it went to the Genius Bar) reformat my hard drive to get rid of some remote viewing software my ex-husband had surreptitiously installed.

Yesterday my connection to my EXT6100 AC750v2 just cut out on both my iPad and PC at the same time with no warning. I checked the extender and it was still plugged in and both of the green lights were on (one signifying a connection to the router and the other a connection to a device). Every time I entered the password on my iPad for the extender to reconnect, the prompt would just disappear and then reappear as if I didn't do anything. My PC will also just fail to connect to the network. I have tried restarting the extender, restarting the modem, rebooting both devices, re-syncing WPS on the extender and the modem and I end up with the same result, only now the light to signify a connection to the device just isn't on. ALL other devices in the house can connect to the extender with no issues. The firmware is up to date (version 1.0.0.50 I believe?) and I'm currently trying to find an ethernet cable for a direct connection to the extender to see if that helps. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I restored the extender to factory default settings (through mywifiext.net) and everything works as it did before. I assume it was something to do with a new firmware update but I'm still not too sure.

Hello, I have an EOS RP (mirrorless low-end model) and I would like to do remote shooting over the WiFi connection, using Capture One Pro, which I already know works with wired capture. I have a problem seemingly identical to the one here: Solved: Re: EOS R EOS Utility WiFi bug - Canon Community. I followed the instructions that atis said he was told to follow, however they did not fix my problem.

Since the plugged-in mode of the application worked, I wanted to try getting the two devices paired while connected over USB, but it is not possible to select the WiFi pairing mode while the camera is plugged in. Instead what happens is the app loads a menu. The download images slot is greyed out, probably because I have no SD card in the camera.

I tried connecting to the camera via 2 different methods: A) private WiFi network hosted by the camera, which did not work, as the WiFi network was not even discovered by my desktop's WiFi adapter, which is 802.11ac and ax (that is, WiFi 6E) capable, and B) via my router's WiFi network, which also did not work. My PC is connected to the router via Ethernet. I tried two methods of connecting to the router's network, both of which seem to have connected to the router successfully: A) selecting SSID and entering password; and B) using WPS-button mode; however, I was still unable to get the EOS Utility to recognize the camera. I allowed the camera to configure its own IP address in both methods. I've tried the connection multiple times via each method.

As for the direct WiFi connection, when the camera creates its own network, my computer sees a Hidden Network, which I believe could be it, but it will not connect if I type in the password given by the camera.

Make sure your home router is not using an approved MAC address list. If so, you will need to temporarily disable it so that the camera can connect to your home router. Once connected, you should be able to detect the MAC address and add it to the approved MAC address list.

They are probably hinting to you that until you switch the camera from infrastructure to access point mode, and even worse, many people have problems there even in access point mode))

This means that you need to a Wi-Fi adapter, if you do not have a laptop and even if you use a wired connection, switch the camera to access point mode and connect only that way))

The Guest network is on a separate SSID. I tested this. Connected to the protected network by selecting its SSID in the camera menu. WPS button also connects to the protected SSID instead of the guest network.

I turned-on my Square Terminal last night (Sept 18, 2019) and it started a system update. After the update, my Terminal could no longer connect to my wifi router. I had been connecting to the 2.4 GHz radio with no problems for the past few days. It was only after the update that there was a problem. There is a timeout error.

@daustin777 It sounds like you've already been through all of the general troubleshooting steps for the Square Terminal. We haven't heard other reports of wifi connection issues since the last update for Terminal so it is worth calling our CS team directly so we can investigate further.

One thing I will add is that at this time you can't connect the Terminal to a captive portal network - which is any wifi network where you have to agree to terms/conditions before connecting to the wifi. As you were using the Terminal with wifi before the update I think that's probably not the case here but I just wanted to mention it to cover all the bases!

@cpreugene I never did call. I got busy and hadn't needed to use the Terminal. Eventually, an update mysteriously fixed it. I just checked and it is still working with my router. It always did work with the iPhone just not with my Netgear router. I haven't had connection problems since the update. My current Terminal software version 3.20.0037.

We are having a very similar problem with our new Square terminal. On the first day of a trade show last week (2/23/22) it connected to our Android phone hotspot and everything worked perfectly. The next day, an automatic update was installed as soon as the terminal was powered up and it would no longer connect to the same phone hotspot in the same building. Spent over an hour on the phone to India custom service and he couldn't resolve the problem. He refused to accept that it might be the update causing the issue, instead insisting that it was a problem with the phone - THAT WORKED PERFECTLY THE DAY BEFORE THE UPDATE!

We are having a similar issue now also. Square register and terminal after nightly reboots do not automatically reconnect to wifi (netgear nighthawk) I have to go in and manually connect them both. The terminal does reconnect to wifi with my phone Hotspot and my home wifi??? So I am almost certain it's a netgear/apple issue has anyone had this happen?

Then suddenly one Sunday the Terminals wouldn't connect, their MAC addresses had changed, but there's nothing in the Terminal Network setup/config that shows this or allows you to turn this behavior off (as you can with a Phone or Tablet)!!!

Sorry to hear you are experiencing trouble when connecting to a particular connection. My best advice would be to complete the steps found in our Square Terminal troubleshooting guide. If you have already completed these steps and your situation persists, I will recommend reaching out to our support team.

To answer some of your other questions: yes, rebooted router; no tablet; maybe to phone; no gaming; not sure if/how the tv connects. Funny you ask though, because I'm not sure if/how other devices really even relate - the printer should just plain work! Are you suggesting that your printer doesn't work when other devices are connected? Haa! Thought so. Let's omit that from further discussion unless you have reason to tell me that your printer doesn't work with device xxx. What BS! Why do you even ask this? Just to get stats? Uggh, ok there ya go, some stats for you. Back to the topic, I send a signal, you receive it, done. Well, unfortunately that's not how it is for me today.

Ok Keith we are going back to basics here. First disconnect any cables that may be attached to the machine. Obviously leave the power cord connected but nothing else. Power off the machine and wait 30 seconds then turn it back on. Now lets make sure the Wi-Fi Direct is off and Wi-Fi is on.

See if you can ping the printer. Print a Configuration Report to obtain the IP address. What are the results of the ping this time? If it still fails or comes up with a different IP then there may be an issue with the router. Have you rebooted your router at any point during all this troubleshooting? If not reboot it as well. Do you have any other devices connected to the router wirelessly? for example you laptop, tablet, phone, gaming system, tv, etc.

2) In that solution I used the first one (Wizard). It asked for security info for my router and it seemed to be happy with what I gave it (i.e., ping still works). The process did not seem to fail and I now have a solid blue light on the wifi of the printer - next to a solid green light for info (i.e., solid not blinking - if that's even possible). Not sure if that means success. ff782bc1db
