Tom Kuo is a violinist, violist, instructor of music and conductor from Vancouver, BC. His passionate and varied interest in teaching, performing, and conducting eventually led him to found the Vancouver Orchestra Club in 2010 (which officially was renamed Vancouver Pops in 2015) as a sanctuary for the city's recreational musicians seeking opportunities to rehearse and perform popular refreshing repertoires. Now in his 13th year as Artistic Director, Tom continues to seek out unique and engaging music and venues for musicians young and old to perform and experience.
Tom enjoys being outdoors hiking and camping, and is physically active through tennis and volleyball. In his spare time, he regularly dabbles in everyday cooking and DIY woodworking and home improvement projects.
Grateful for all the performing members, his amazing team, and all the support the organization has recieved, Tom makes sure that new and returning members are welcomed to Vancouver Pops with warmth and enthusiasm.
