You apple ID is the email address and the password you use to sign in. The ID is also where your contact info and security details are stored. You can also store payment information for buying apps, storage, music and more, within your Apple ID.
What is Apple Recovery Key?
Apple ID Recovery Key. The 14-character Recovery Key is generated during the two-step signup process and is meant as a backup. If you forget your password or lose access to all trusted devices and your phone number (but not both), the Recovery Key was the only way to restore your Apple ID account.
How to get a new apple recovery key from apple.com/recovery?
First and foremost got to the apple.com/recovery official site and then select the ‘manage my Apple ID’ option.
Login into your Apple ID with your username and password.
Now once logged in, it will ask you to verify your credentials.
You can verify either by using a phone number or a trusted device.
Then from the left side choose the ‘security’ option.
Next, select the option ‘Replace Lost Key’.
Now, Apple will take you a simple setup process to generate a new Apple Recovery Key.
Follow the process and once you get your recovery key.
You can either print the recovery key or write it down and place it in a secured location.
After that, you will have to re-type the recovery key so that you can confirm that the Apple Recovery Key is working.
