Compaq Presario 7100 Series QuickRestore CD Floppy

The Compaq Presario 7100 series was a line of desktop computers that were released in the mid-1990s. They featured Intel Pentium processors, Windows 95 operating system, and various multimedia capabilities. To help users restore their system software in case of a problem, Compaq provided a QuickRestore solution that included CDs and a floppy disk.

    What is QuickRestore?

QuickRestore was a software solution that allowed users to recover their system software, including the operating system, drivers, and other software enhancements. It consisted of two types of CDs: System Recovery CD(s) and Application Recovery CD. The System Recovery CD(s) would reformat and restore the hard drive to its original factory installed state, while the Application Recovery CD would allow users to selectively restore individual applications, drivers, and utilities. QuickRestore also required a bootable floppy disk that contained the necessary files to start the recovery process.
