Combinatorial COMMUTATIVE ALGEBRA in Canada

 aN aArms collaborative research group

Overview

Commutative Algebra is the backbone of some of the most exciting recent mathematical developments in the world. With the support of AARMS (Atlantic Association for Research in the Mathematical Sciences) the goal of this Collaborative Research Group (CRG) is to enable researchers in combinatorial commutative algbra in both Atlantic Canada and the rest of Canada to strengthen their collaborations.

This CRG explores the influence of combinatorics in open problems of commutative algebra, and to find ways of applying algebraic invariants of ideals in polynomial rings to introduce new tools to combinatorics. Our goal is to support and enhance research in combinatorial commutative algebra in (Atlantic) Canada.

With the announcement of our funding in September 2023, we are in the process of working on a number of events, including a online seminar, hosting a conference, and supporting graduate students and post-docs.  Check this page as we update it.
