About Us
Community Impact Projects (CIP) aims to nurture outreach projects, facilitating them in achieving meaningful social change. We empower students by creating a supportive network and framework by which they can spread kindness to the world around them, in line with Islamic principles. We envision that our grassroots level work will create the foundation by which large scale social change can be seen.
As human beings we are tied together by mutual empathy and the desire for justice. We are blessed with the ability to understand another’s suffering, but more so we are blessed with the ability to alleviate it. This need for communal care is what binds us together. In Islam, the importance of ‘Common Kindnesses’ is exemplified by a chapter of Qur’an being named after the concept, Surah Al Ma’un (also translated as ‘the small kindnesses’). The idea being not only that we are expected to use the resources that God has given us for outreach work, but that we will be held accountable in the court of God if we do not.
When the responsibility upon us is so great, the need for an overarching network, coordinating and facilitating outreach projects, becomes evident. CIP works primarily with ISoc’s to help them identify their skill sets and match that with the needs of their local community. In doing so, we bring together and develop a group of like-minded, ambitious and kind-hearted Muslims, who will, by the will of Allah, bring about a more kind and caring society.
