CommuniqAI Frequently Asked Questions
How can I prevent a message from being sent when I’m on a call with a loved one?
By default, this will not happen—just make certain the app has Phone and Call log data permissions in your device’s settings.
I added a person and enabled them, but there are no Upcoming messages for them. What’s going on?
Please make certain you have enabled one or more non-AI-generated messages for this person.
The setting to notify me before sending messages keeps resetting to disabled even after I’ve enabled it. How do I resolve this?
This will happen if you have disabled notifications for the app or for one or more of its notification channels or groups in Android. Enable these notifications in your device’s settings and then re-enable the setting in the app.
The setting to prevent sending messages if I recently missed a call keeps resetting to disabled even after I’ve enabled it. How do I resolve this?
This will happen if the app does not have Phone and Call log data permissions. Enable these permissions in your device’s settings and then re-enable the setting in the app.
Besides SMS, when will you support WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and similar?
SMS support is built into Android natively, so we did this first, but this is also because the app can easily access these communication histories to make better decisions.
After reviewing what was required to appropriately support WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and similar, unfortunately we determined that these messaging networks are closed platforms and the companies that operate these networks actively prevent third parties from integrating with them. While we realize that other related apps have some integration with these messaging networks, these integrations are not ideal and severely limit the functionality that our app provides with open and standardized messaging networks, such as SMS. For further information on the importance of interoperability in messaging, a nice, related history about email is available at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_email.
We plan to continue to evaluate these platforms in the future and will take steps to properly integrate them when it is possible to do so.
Is CommuniqAI just another messaging app?
No. It’s a device automation tool that facilitates messaging while allowing you to continue to use your favorite SMS app.
Can I use CommuniqAI to send group messages?
Not at this time. Our initial design focus is to bolster one-on-one communications, but we might evaluate this for the future.
Can I use CommuniqAI to set multiple schedules for a single person?
Not at this time. Our initial design focus is to let you simply set a good time window for messaging and let the app handle the rest, but we might evaluate this for the future.
How do I change the API key I entered for AI-generated messages?
For now, please disable the AI-generated message for all users to reset this. You can then re-enable the AI-generated message for the desired people, and you will be prompted for a new API key when you do this for the second person.
I have two SIM cards in my device. How can configure the app to use a specific one?
At this time, we do not support multiple SIM cards. We will evaluate this for the future.
