Established in 2013, the Digital Talent Program is a one-year fellowship that grants six recent graduates with the opportunity to support a CMG brand during multiple digital projects. The program received more than 200 applications for the six available roles this year.
“We are proud to welcome such a talented and diverse group of individuals to CMG. Their managers are expecting amazing things from them,” said Kristi Lawson, Senior Manager of Talent Pipeline Programs. “They beat out hundreds of other candidates to be here today. We are looking forward to seeing how they drive results for their respective brands.”
Upon completion of the one-year term, the participants will present their achievements to the company’s Senior Leadership Team including CMG President, Kim Guthrie. To date, 17 of 22 former participants remain employees of Cox Media Group.
As part of Cox Media Group's initiative to tell the company's story and celebrate our employees, I launched the Career Insider series. For each project, I coordinated the interviews, edited and filmed footage, and promoted the content to internal and external audiences.

Monday, May 15, 2018– Cox Media Group (CMG) will be launching the first installment of their Career Insider series this Wednesday on various social media platforms. Career Insider provides audiences with an inside look of the company’s brands through candid conversations with employees.
In episode one, CMG visits the WSB Radio station in Atlanta, Georgia. Viewers are greeted by On-Air Personality Sasha the Diva of Kiss 104.1 FM. The 25-year radio veteran shared her perspective and advice on breaking into the competitive industry.
“It is very important for one to understand that, in order to get to where I am, you cannot start in a large market,” she says. “Yes, I wanted to start in a top market. But I had to go a small market, making five dollars an hour, living in an efficiency apartment with no furniture, eating tuna fish every day, and driving a car that I thought was going to break down! It’s called sacrifice!”
Atlanta’s B98.5 FM is represented by On-Air Personality Tad Lemire – who gives viewers a rundown of his role and day-to day routine.
“I want to say it’s almost less about having the voice or the chops to speak to the masses. You must know a little about marketing, sales, and content. The list goes on!” Lemire described his daily routine in further detail, “My team and I are only on air for about four hours. But the typical day is usually anywhere between twelve to fourteen hours.”
Following the first episode of Career Insider, a new installment will be released each month. Future episodes will cover news reporting, working in sales, and technology departments. A special edition of the series will be produced to highlight the intern experience at Cox Media Group.
WSBTV Black History: Jocelyn Dorsey
In celebration of Black History Month, I interviewed Jocelyn Dorsey, the first African-American anchor at WSB-TV.
Career Insider: Women In Tech
Several organizations rely heavily on their Tech Departments. For this project, I chose to highlight the women who are leaders in the male-dominated industry of technology.
Career Insider: On-Air News Reporter
WSB-TV is Atlanta's leader for local news. I interviewed reporters Chris Jose and Nefertiti Jacquez to gain insight on what it takes to succeed in the news industry.
Career Insider: Radio Personality
They keep us informed with the latest celebrity news and Top-40 hits. But do we really know the ins and outs of being an on-air radio personality? Sasha The Diva and Tad Lamier share their stories and words of advice for aspiring radio personalities.
In alignment with the company's employee value proposition campaign, President Kim Guthrie envisioned the launch of a program aimed at celebrating exceptional employees. Taking the lead, I not only crafted the foundational framework for this employee recognition initiative but also spearheaded the creation of compelling visuals and written content to showcase the prestigious award.

SPC: Orlando News Teams
As the communications lead for Speed Passion Courage, I produced interviews with teams responsible for pioneering groundbreaking news coverage. This particular interview spotlights our esteemed Orlando team. Leading the charge, I directed and conducted interviews, and meticulously edited the footage, supported by the skilled videographer Ryon Horne from the AJC.
SPC Communications
Aside from producing videos for the project, I provided graphics and verbiage for promotional items including posters, the physical awards and certificates, and nomination forms.
Pictured above are two examples of infographics that I created on behalf of the Corporate Communications team.
