GB thoughts
Projection not in the DoE unit of work. Lesson 13 looks at Australia's connection through radio and televsion. Connection being the key word.
Keep it brief
Projectors brought the world into classrooms before and in the early years of televsion - 'windows to the world'
Sequence - magic lantern, epidiascope, episcope, filmstrip and slide projectors - Ss are directed to all those on their visit. They only glance at 16mm film projector. The power source changed - spirit lantern to electricity- and the material of the slides changed - glass to plastic. Plastic meant mass production.
Compare - what's different and what's similar
Draw conclusions using evidence

Design a filmstrip
Historians use pictures to tell stories about the past.
Create your own view-master reel. Look at your school playground and draw 7 small 'snapshots' – one in each window. Each snapshot can show something different, like where you play, your friends, or your favourite equipment.
Use the template to create the reel.
GB - I think this activity is better for Projection technologies and do a filmstrip as a snapshot of the present. So, same activity but as a filmstrip not a reel. Doing it in 3D viewers brings in a whole new concept about pictures and stories.
